“Excellent November Holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2012

This was our first stay in BENIDORM, and to say that we were pleasently suprised, is an understatement. We had booked via the Servio Group Website, so did not have to pay anything until we arrived. (A bonus) We arrived on Sun 04th, just as the Restaurant was closing for Lunch, but the staff made sure we got a meal--the start of an excellent 16 day holiday; had asked for top floor room with pool view, and were given one.
You cannot fault the Hotel Staff, Cleanliness, or food, if there is a complaint, it could only be that the Restaurant furniture, could do with updating, and maybe better toiletries in the rooms (Although they are replaced daily).
Weather could have been better(Benidorm on a very wet day is not good), but we will return next November.
Advice is to book direct with the Servio Group, for the best deal, as this includes transfers and free tickets to the BENIDORM PALACE.

Room Tip: Top Floor Pool View

My friend and I stayed in the Castilla at the end of September for a long weekend. This hotel had been recommended to us by a friends brother. We were delighted with it. They are always prepared to 'go the extra mile' e.g we did not arrive till 11.30 p.m but there was a lovely supper laid out for us in the dining room (never had that before) As in other reviews - very clean, good food, lovely staff, nicely decorated. Also leaving at 7.00 am they provided us with coffee and biscuits (would have been more if we had informed them what time we were leaving) Its these little personal touches that will bring the guests back time and again. Cannot comment on entertainment as we went out every night. Finally the joy of staying in a hotel in Benidorm that is near to all the action but for a few more minutes walk the lovely peace and quiet required for a goods night sleep. Will definately go back.

We travelled as a couple to this hotel and spent weeks reading the reviews of many hotels in benidorm. Having only been once before to benidorm (hotel Rialto) another servigroup hotel, we wanted to stay more towards the old town area which is approx 15 mins walk from the castilla.
The castilla hotel in our opinion is situated in the most ideally located area for a quiet nights sleep yet still only a few minutes walk from everything benidorm has to offer. Most of the other hotels have noisy bars etc almost on top of the hotel yet the castilla is in a quiet area.
We were slightly apprehensive before our holiday as we had read many reviews regarding the pick pockets and crime on the yellow brick road that runs at the side of the hotel. Most of these unfavourable reviews are on the rio park hotel that is next to the castilla. We never saw any bother around the hotel but were extra vigilant and had money on a belt underneath our clothes.
When checking in the hotel, we were informed that we could have 2 free tickets to the benidorm palace show but could pay 6 euros each for a pre arranged bus that would take us and collect us along with other guests. This is a great touch as the show is fabulous and well worth the visit.
The hotel room is the most spotless we have had the pleasure of staying in. There was no evidence anywhere of any other guests that had previously stayed in the room. Everything was gleaming! There is a fridge free of charge and plenty of storage space. Due to the air con being turned off at the end of October we were absolutely sweltering in the room even though the weather wasn't favourable. As the hotel is small there isn't vast amounts of choice of food like the larger hotels we usually stay in but it made up for it in quality and it was always hot. It is the only hotel we have visited where we have had a proper meal put together rather than us piling lots of different things on our plates. The food choice was mostly British and consisted of these mains to name but a few; liver and onions, individual chicken and mushroom pies, homemade pizza, cornish pasties, roast beef and yorkshire puddings on Sunday, the usual vegetables and mashed potato. Beautifully cooked breaded cod. There was also apple crumble, bread and butter pudding, peach cobbler and custard, an ice cream machine and many many more, these are just some examples. The cooked breakfasts were lovely, English sausages and the usual full English stuff including black pudding and fried bread. The drinks were 2 for the price of 1 so it was hard to spend a lot of money each night. There are a couple of cheap and cheerful bars just a stones throw from the hotel if you don't want to go far. Due to the weather being mostly rainy and cool we didn't use the pool area but it did look lovely.
We would certainly visit this hotel again in the future as it ticked all the boxes for us: quiet location compared to nearly every hotel in benidorm, spotless interior, friendly and welcoming staff and lovely food. What more could anyone wish for? We were certainly more than happy with our choice.

Myself and my husband and the In laws spent a week again at the Castilla at the begining of Nov and the standards remain excellent. We were given a low floor as requested and we were greeted with a lovely welcome back. The rooms were spotless and maid service was excellent. The food has improved since our last stay and they have provided a pasta section for vegetarians. We could not fault our stay and are looking forward to our stay next year.
Keep up the good work

Stayed here for 3 nights to go to the Benidorm Festival. Hotel was spotlessly clean everywhere and there was a real attention to detail. Staff were friendly and very efficient. Food was very good with lots of choice and variation. Room was a good size with a nice balcony. . Location very good. Excellent value for money including prices at the bar (which were 2 for 1). Bed wasn't the most comfortable I have slept in and the entertainment was poor but overall I would totally recommend this hotel.

We arrived at the hotel for 2 days on a Monday and parked for FREE outside the hotel on the road outside some building works opposite the hotel itself with ample parking spaces which saved us €10 a day parking with the hotel in their grounds.

On arrival at reception we where greeted with a lovely water fall style effect fountain and revolving glass doors that led onto a shiny marble floor and reception desk, we were asked at reception desk for our passports and booking information by a very friendly receptionist. They said they would hold our passports for a day for their systems processing. So we checked in very quickly and paid for a safety deposit box at €2 a day which was good value and made our way to our room which was situated on the 10th floor 1 down from the highest level at floor 11.

We opened of the door to our room with our electronic key and wow what a stunning room, we had twin beds medium to hard and a nice spacious marble bathroom and the balcony/terrace was large with a view of the pool and other hotels, there was also a satellite Tv in the room which english and spanish channels too.The only thing that let the room down was that it was right opposite facing the building works but it was ok because the work had stopped for the year and there was no noise from it. Our room face west. There was also a smoke alarm that kept on flashing every 7 seconds so my partner could not get any sleep and the first night so we had to go and buy a sleeping mask for him which seemed to have helped for the rest of the time there. The chamber maid service was excellent but they wanted you out early in a morning to clean your rooms generally between 9am - 10 am.

The dining area/restaurant was clean and tidy and the meals in hotel were as follows:

Breakfast was fantastic with cooked, fried and grilled eggs, sausage, bacon, tomato, black pudding and fried bread. They had a selection of toast, cereals, yogurts, fruit, cold meats and cheeses, coffee and tea and fruit juice.
Lunch selection was varied from a cold meat and cheese and salad bar to hot meals such as fresh fish,Paella, soup, stew, grilled meats, beef bourgignon, beef stroganoff, chips, vegetables, rice and pasta. e.t.c.
The evening meals where very good almost the same as lunch with an addition of Roast meats.

The waitresses were very attentive. The only down side was you could not order a glass of wine it was by the bottle only priced from €7 up to €18 and more for cava and champagne. The seats were very comfy and the atmosphere was very relaxing and quiet and peaceful.

The entertainment was a let down as we did not see it because there was only 1 guitarist or singer on per night from 9pm until 12pm when the bar shut. It was lacking disco and karaoke e.t.c. so you had to go elsewhere for the evenings entertainment but you were spoiled for choice in Benidorm.

The seating in the Bar area was very comfortable and had a warm relaxing feeling to it and had a separate salon where you could play games and read books in peace. The drinks at the bar were all 2 for 1 except cocktails and cava and champagne. You could go to any Servigroup hotel show them your room key and told them where you were staying and got the same deal at the bar which we thought was a great saving and helped with cash flow.

The gymnasium Area was very clean and well equipped with tread mills and weights e.t.c. complete with a sauna but no Indoor pool which let the gymnasium down but if you wanted a swim it was outside the hotel but it was closed down due it being November far too cold to swim in this time of the year. We how ever did not use the facilities in the gymnasium as we did not do fitness things.

The reception area for seating was very good and nice to relax, unwind after a busy hectic day out with free wifi, internet and reading material on offer. An added bonus was the free blanket trips you could book on to if you wanted a free day out with the tour operators at the hotel daily and there was once a week a free night at the Benidorm Palace courtesy of the Hotel management.

On our stay at the Hotel in Benidorm there was a Fiesta going on for 3 - 4 days so most of the shops and bars where shut. Also due to a Valencian government crisis with the pharmacies most of the pharmacies were closed due to striking. But that did not spoil it for us at all as we had a fantastic time and our 4 star hotel felt more like a better rated one just less than a 5 star.

We rate the hotel 9/10 and would definitely return again without a doubt.

Its away from all the hustle and bustle of the town center clubs and bars but within easy walking distance and the market on Wednesday and Sunday which is a must for any bargain hunter was within easy reach too.

Room Tip: Take lots of medication with you if needed due to the current crisis with the pharmacies also check...

The hotel is in a central position very close to all amenities. Our room was on the 6th floor and was quite unusual in decor but very warm and cosy whilst being plenty large enough for 2. We had a nice flat screen TV with english channels as well as numerous other international channels and the room wa spotless. The bathroom was adequate although could do with a bit of an update, especially the shower. Plenty of storage and a nice large balcony. The restaurant was very pleasant and the food was very good at all meals with plenty of choices. Would have liked tea or coffee after the lunch and dinner but like most spanish hotels they only supply with breakfast.
The reception and bar areas are very nice with nice comfortable seating, again immaculately clean and the reception staff were very accomodating and spoke english well as did all the staff. Although it was too miserable outside to use the pool area we had a look around and all seemed acceptable and there was a nice child play area.
This hotel is rated 4 star but I would be inclined to say its a good 3 star as it wasn't quite up to what other 4 stars we have stayed in are. Having said that I would have no hesitation in staying there again.
