“good location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2013

Just returned after spending a great holiday at the Venus, good location, close to beach, round corner from levanter strip of bars and security access using cards is excellent, found it odd that you can't get tea or coffee with lunch or dinner and you cant bring water in to the restaurant which was purchased there, can only buy water orange or beer off the waiters at inflated prices seems this goes towards their pay or tips as they are very eager to sell you drinks, but over all a satisfied customer

Room Tip: rooms overlooking road are noisy at night

4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2013 via mobile

I have stayed at the Venus five times and have already booked for 2014.
My only complaints are that if the hotel has a policy of no reserving sunbeds, then it should be operated by the staff.
Also, the revamping of the restaurant is a major step backwards. The restaurant now resembles a cross between a works canteen and Mcdonalds. The removal of the white table cloths has made the dining experience noisy and unpleasant. The white plastic chairs are uncomfortable and people kept tripping over the legs which tend to stick out.
It may well be that 2014 is my last stay at The Venus, which is a real shame because I have always been so pleased to stay there in the past.

we have just returned from the venus hotel well where do i start!!! absolutely top draw. the hotel is right in the heart of the action yet far enough away from the noise of the disco area, we stayed in the residencial side of the hotel overlooking reflex bar and the main road. on 1st floor couldnt of gota better view of the world goin by. only downside was the sun was on the rear of the hotel after lunchtime but at least it was more private. the food was always hot with plenty of variety to suit all tastes. and i mean all tastes!! on the wednesday on the same menu you could have thai curry with rice and prawn crackers yet next aisle was roast beef an yorkshire puds with mash total choice what ever you want its there and full choice of salads. the staff in the restaurant are so courteous its always hello and they work so hard clearing the tables constantly.the rooms are well laid out with flat screen lcd tv.s its 10euro to hire remote control but you get that back when you hand it in at reception on day of departure. everyone of the staff speak to you and take their time to say hello. its spotlessly clean maids in the rooms everyday and when we left for our coach pick up at 6.30am the cleaning staff were already polishing the glass doors an mopping floors!!! try getting that in england!!! the pool area is nice and clean and plentyof sunbeds. and you cant get access to the pool area without your room key. nice security touch. well done servigroup venus we definately be back. top draw should be 4 star.

Room Tip: if you want the sun on the balcony get a pool view

The beach was just 10 min away .We loved the old town not far walk or stroll in the evening. We will be going again, October was a nice time to go if you don't want to many hen and stag party's
If you have not been before GO!!! you have old town and the fun town on your door step.

The only complaint I have about the room, is that overlooking the main road on the fifth floor the traffic noise is still loud even with the door locked. The pick up point for the airport is across the road from the hotel and the buses park with th engines running to pick people up, this goes on all night. The walk in shower is great as is the air con. The room was spotless, and had a fridge. The meal time started at 7.30, I found this a bit late. The restaurant was really busy but there was plenty of room and tables. There was a good choice of food for adults, and they had open cooking where you could watch the food being cooked from fresh. We had a two year old with us but there was no kids menu. The swimming pool was a good size with a decent kids pool. The terrace is large and plenty of sun loungers, even when we came to the pool mid afternoon there was plenty of loungers and space. The hotel was full of older people and the entrance was overrun with mobility scooters. It might be different at high summer. The location is great really handy for bars, shops, beach and not to far from the old town. I had a great time and would go back to this hotel, but next time ask for a pool view room.

Room Tip: Pool view rooms are quieter and get the sun all afternoon.

Booked disabled room for wheelchair, no patio, metal grills on windows, I understand security but it was so hot, we could get no fresh air as such, asked for a move and this was done immediately. staff very helpful. No pool assistance for disabled, no pool guard whilst I was at the pool. Did not like the food, breakfast was the best of the day, too much fish, and veg. not much variety in potatoes, chips or boiled. Poached eggs and black pudding amazing, local area good for entertainment, but the nose in the night as our room overlooked the top road was awful, lifts from floors and restaurant lift not wide enough for wheelchair, although glass lift was. Other hotels we have stayed in over the years rate better for our requirements, though the pool and sun terrace were great, spacious and loads of sun beds. 2 for 1 in drinks as with all servi group hotels. staff helpful, hotel clean.

Room Tip: not on the ground floor facing the Pueblo, noisy and no balcony.

Dear Guest,

We would like to thank you for the time you took writing your comment as knowing your opinion is the tool to improve our service.

With reference to the disable rooms, we specificaly inform in our web site, www.servigroup.com, that this type of room has no balcony. Rooms are bigger than standard rooms and bathrooms are adapted for wheelchairs. The availbility of these rooms has to be confirmed directly with the hotel reception. We do not inform that the swimmingpool is adapted for disabled and the contract of the pool guard is from June untill end September (summer season).

We were sorry to hear that your stay didn’t meet with your expectations, with reference to your comments regarding the food; we do offer an international buffet which is carefully chosen by our catering department, where a wide choice of food is available. None the less we do appreciate our guests’ opinions, as customer satisfaction is our sole aim.

Kind regards,
Customer Service.

Just returned after fourth visit to Venus - emailed to ask for certain room and did get it a big thank you. The hotel is exceptionally clean and the choice of food I would think would suit everyone. Staff always pleasant and helpful and of course the weather was really sunny which makes any holiday.

My one little moan was the choice of music by the pool (which unfortunately was repeated every day)
- although mainly ,"mature" clientèle I think most would have preferred a more popular choice (Roy Orbison, Dusty music from that era).

All in all another enjoyable holiday thank you Venus.
