Arrived back from "ville de benidorm" on 2 sept.

We were dropped off outside. Looking at the hotel , we were having second thoughts ! Once inside the hotel, we were greeted with cava and crisps. We checked in at 11.30 am and was told that our room was nowhere near ready till about 2.00 pm. The receptionist gave us a piece of paper and told us to go away till the room was ready.

We decided to look round the hotel, ( I wasn't very impressed at all) . There was a sewer smell seeping though the hotel foyer. At 2.30 pm we were given our cards for our room. On entering the room it was really dark there was no electric working, the light over the dressing table was hanging off. Rooms average , as a familly of 4 , the rooms were not big enough. My 2 children had to sleep in a sofa bed that ws falling apart.

The air con was leaking all over the floor, we were on the 6th floor and we kept getting visits from ANTS !".

The pool area was very unsafe, VERY SLIPPY !! The pool was muggy. We had to queue for sun beds as there wasn't enough for everyone in the hotel.

The entertainment was really poor. (The entertainers sandra and deni were great and did their best , before we left the hotel the entertainment staff were leaving. ). I feel that this hotel wasn't very child friendly.

As for the safety in the hotel , there were tramps living in the gardens at the fornt of the hotel. They constantly harrast the guests, there needed to be security guards on the door as the tramps wandered into the hotel restaurant and surrounding area, everytime we asked reception staff to do something they just ignored us.

The good things about the hotel was the food, it was lovely we couldn't fault it. there was lots of choice and the staff worked really hard !! Some of the bar staff were friendly, Alex, Max and Noah.

I think if it wasn't for the lovely food and the great group of people we met, I think we would of asked for a change of hotel..

Overall I think the hotel needs to be re vamped and soon, all the receptionist seemed to be dealing with was complaints, it's a shame really cause Benidorm is such a lovely place with lots to do for everyone. We will go back someday, but we won't be staying here !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just returned from Villa De Benidorm 30th Aug 2008.
We arrived 11am, waited until 2.30pm for our room, but within the first 10 minutes we knew we did not want to stay.
Tramps were sleeping on the benches directly in front of the hotel...good first impression? A lady off our flight had her handbag stolen within minutes of being there.
The place stunk of sewage, the pool was dirty, the bar looked like a grotty old smelly back street pub,the restaurant was like a small grotty cafe...not much choice of food, but would'nt eat it anyway.
Rang our travel agent to be relocated or for a flight home within the first hour, no way did we want to spend 2 weeks in this dump.

We were stuck there for 5 days due to it being the busiest time of the year and with the help of the hotels guest relations Emma(and with no help from our travel agent )we were relocated.
Thankyou Emma!

If you expect clean and pleasant don't go there,if you don't mind cockroaches and foul smells then this is the place to go.

Hotel Magic Villa de Benidorm

Ok where do i start about this hotel, i suppose at the beginning would be good.

We were dropped off and looked at the outside of the hotel and honestly thought OH MY GOD.. but not reading a book by the cover thought well inside would be better...... yeh right!!!!.
We entered the hotel and walked into the most offensive smell you have ever smelt, we had no welcome from the hotel, which earlier arrivals had recieved, the receptionist was the most miserable person i think i could have ever met, we were given an envelope and four cards and told to go to our room, oh yeh with no instruction how to get their and how we used these cards...
Anyway got to our room, the cards opened the door, to pitch blackness..... Ummmm tried for 15 mins plus and eventually worked out this card also had to be placed in a slot, which looked like a light switch, but still trying to be positive thought oh well never mind the lights work now.....

The room
Very small, ok for a couple but not a family of four,no balcony, dirty windows, electric sockets away from the wall.
Although to be fair we had clean bedding and towels every other day.
The bathroom
I just dont know what to say about the bathroom, tiny, offensive odours continuously and not from us, shower head hanging, water temperature varied constantly, scorching hot then freezing cold... this was reported and i was told this was normal.

The pool
The pool was smaller than appears of photos i've seen, but was suitable, it had a shallow and deep end, the pool however was not the cleanest, on one occasion the pool was so murky you couldnt see the bottom of the pool and the filters were not working, this was reported immediately.

Sunbeds
The area by the pool does not allow all of the guests to sit around the pool neither did the hotel have enough sunbeds, it was a nightmare to be honest the pool opened at 9am then by 9.10 no sunbeds were left. there was alot of sunbed saving aswell and sunbeds could be left over three hours unused, staff said to move towels away after 20 mins, but you want to come away to relax and not start arguments with people.

Bar
It was a joke, one barstaff member on behind this small bar, you were constantly queueing which truefully could be upto half an hour, it was ridiculous.
a second bar was opened at 9pm in another room but again one person.
self service bar was awful and i agree with other reviews when they say it was stale/off.

Restaurant
Small and if everyone wanted to eat at the same time you would be in trouble, not enough tables and chairs to sit everyone.
The waiters though were terrific and worked very hard to clear and clean tables as people finished their meals.

Food
Great choices of salads and fruit......... main meals not so good choice as long as you like chips and pasta you will be ok.

To be honest i could go on and on about this hotel, i have only scatched the surface of what i have told you so far.
My honest opinion is stay away.

Hotel Magic Villa de Benidorm

Aug 26, 2008

Just arrived back yesterday from this hotel in benidorm. First of all staff were brilliant especially denilson who was a great entertanier.
The lifts were terrible they take 10 mins to get to you also they are so small that they can only fit 4 people in them and as we were a family of 5 one of us always had to go down the stairs. Airconditioning was a nightmare because when you try to go to sleep all you can hear is it making noises. Also when you turn on the lights they flash ever 5 mins. Entertanment was brilliant good for kids. Pool needed to be cleaned alot more first day maid did not clean our room toilets stank when we got there but it got better. Food was great, their speciality is pasta and u can go down when ever u want to have food. Sunbeds were uncomfortable and lots of them were broken. Some kids were out of control they thought they owned the place and the pool was not supervised enough as some bigger kids were being nasty to others around them. The games area never worked always needed to get bar staff to help. Over all the hotel was ok as per the title. I probably would not go back there because i would like to see what the other hotels are like in the same area. Benidorm was great will go back again.

Hotel Magic Villa de Benidorm

I have just arrived back today from staying in this hotel in Benidorm. I've read some of the other reviews on here and agree that you have to visit it yourself and make your own judgements. The only thing i enjoyed about staying in this hotel was the staff, they are absolutely brilliant, they're funny, friendly and always willing to help.
The rooms are pretty much average. They don't look as good in real life as they do in the pictures. The maids did an ok job of cleaning it, although my bed sheet did not get changed the entire time i was there even though it was covered in sand (from my beach towel ha ha) and slightly stained from a drink i spilt on it.
One thing that did bother me was the smell that sometimes came from the toilet in our room, although any drain that you walk past throughout Benidorm stank so bad that we were heaving as we walked past it. We stupidly requested a room with a pool view, (as the other view is of other taller hotels or the main road out the front of the hotel), it was an ok view but as it was by the pools (indoor and outdoor) we ended up being kept awake when the kids stayed up till 1am screaming and shouting and playing pool. The food was good i loved the chips they had there, although was put off of my food when i saw a cockroach run past our table one night. The entertainment has gotten better from previous years (my mum and sister have stayed at this hotel twice before). They had a good variety, from spanish dancers to bingo and even bird and reptile shows. The entertainers themselves were brilliant, they were so full of energy and always smiling. They will not rest until they get all the kids up and dancing at least once before you leave, but the dances are fun to do so i didn't mind being pestered :). Lastly I'd like to comment on the overall look of the hotel....well, the front of the hotel has a large seating area where you are allowed to smoke, this area could do with a good makeover including throwing away the plastic cushion-type things ha ha. Really i think the entire hotel could do with a makeover as it desperately needs repairing and updating. Overall i think this was a pretty average hotel, its a case of you get what you pay for.
But the staff were GREAT!!! :) :) :)
