“Great hotel shame about the pool”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2013

Just back from a week at the Riviera, great location for Benidorm's nightlife. We booked by phone from home and confirmed by email, when we arrived all our requests were satisfied, we asked for the highest floor possible, a twin bed room and late checkout. We were placed in room 911 the top floor, very clean, good balcony with table and chairs, TV with poor selection of channels, didn't matter because we didn't go to Benidorm to watch TV.

The shower was the most powerful I have ever used, the hotel provides soap, shower gel, shampoo, combs, toothbrushes and toothpaste and shower caps replenished every day.

A special thank you to our room maid, our room was incredibly clean every day, she was superb.

To use the lift you need your room card however the lift need 3 to 4 attempts to read the card as does the room lock.

The buffet in this hotel is excellent, the choice is great, I am a vegetarian and there was always plenty of choice. The restaurant seemed to be understaffed and at dinner, the bingo caller in the room next door is monotonous,

We watched the England V Poland football game on very large screen in the front bar with a ice bucket of 5 bottles of beer, excellent idea as I could watch the game without going to the bar.

Now for the disappointments, no kettle or tea making facilities in the room,a room safe is 15 euros for the week, late checkout is 36 euros, lunch on day of checkout is 15 euros each, the pool is tiny and freezing, we never informed we could use the facilities of any other hotels nearby.

I can only echo most of what has been said before, when we return to Benidorm we will definitely stay here again, it is a smaller hotel than we are used to but I found this to be a positive, everyone was so friendly. I liked that when we sat on the terrace we weren't feeling pressured by bar staff if you wanted a drink... you just waved or walked up to the bar! The rooms were lovely, we stayed in 905 not much sun on the balcony but very quiet and comfortable, we did notice when we arrived a smell of sewerage as others have stated, however when my husband requested air freshener somebody came and sprayed right away whilst we had gone to dinner and never really noticed it again. It would not deter us from going here again as I said it was wonderful! Such a nice relaxed and friendly hotel, including staff and guests.

Stayed here for a week, could not fault the cleanliness, or the majority of the staff. The bar staff at reception were very slow and chose to ignore you as they carried out their chores. The pool is minute and freezing, sunbathing at the pool or on the balconies was limited to a few hours of the day. Food and the restaurant could not be faulted, their service was excellent and they could teach the bar staff upstairs a few things in customer service. This is definitely a hotel for older people. It's close to the busy British part of Benidorm so not far to walk. Overall I would recommend here if you want a quiet relaxed holiday without a lot of sun bathing. The room was nice and clean and had very good showers, the bed was far to hard for me, I was lucky to get more than a few hours sleep before waking up with a very sore back. Aircon in the rooms was ok

Stayed here for 9 nights everything about it is great just as all previous reviews have said :)

I used the Rosamar pool next door until the sun came out at the Riviera, but even sitting at front of hotel is fab with drink prices very reasonable bottle local beer €1, €6 for a jug of sangria, €8 bucket 5 x bud or €10 bucket 5 x corona all day.

The security in hotel is good, you need your room key to operate the lifts & 2am front of hotel is locked with intercom system to get in.

Looking forward to our return next year :)

Room Tip: Be prepared to put on weight, the food is great with delicious desserts :)

We have just returned from this Superb Hotel. We cannot fault it at all. We had room 901 the bed was the biggest I had ever seen, a very modern clean room and that goes for the full hotel. Always able to get a table in restaurant, the food was always piping hot and lots of choice, the staff never stop and are very friendly. Special mention to Mohammed (Happy Happy) he has the most infectious laugh. The rooms with odd numbers don't get hardly any sun but that's sometimes a blessing after been out in it all day. I would definitely return to this hotel and would recommend it to anyone. Thank you for a lovely stay

We got everything we requested on our booking, we were with friends celebrating their 30th anniversary the hotel gave them complimentary champagne in their room.
This was our 2nd visit and it was fabulous on both occasions we will be back in February 2014

Room Tip: Both visits our room was excellent even though we had odd numbers in February and even numbers in Oc...
