“Easter break”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2013

No problems here with hotel accomodation . Really enjoyed the food , plenty of variety on AI basis and couldn't fault it. Staff were always polite and helpful. Hotel is very big,and busy. Rooms are just fine.
Top front floors have an excellent view over Benidorm. The outside area is nice, but be warned pool is unheated, and in April was absolutely freezing. Our two young girls even wearing wet suits found it too cold to swim in.

There was a diverse mix of people staying at the hotel, lots of spanish pensioners , hen and batchelor parties, families with small children. Some parents letting kids run around bar area unatended caused nuisance. This was no fault of the hotel- look no further than certain parents getting tanked up at AI bar.

Hotel entertainment at night not the best and absence of entertainment for young children was surprising . Sometimes big queues for drinks in evening, . Bar staff did their best to keep up but at peak times waiting 15 minutes in queue for drinks in AI area.

Outside the hotel , nice walk down hill to beach , 15 minutes to Finestrat or Poniente, plenty to see and do in area, though hotel is a long way out of the centre of Benidorm. Bus service directly outside hotel , also a taxi rank is very convenient. Walking to old town a good hours walk along sea front.

All in all a nice hotel , we enjoyed our stay ,4* hotel was a good standard I think some of the negative reviews about food and staff are unfounded.

Room Tip: Not all rooms have a balcony, request one when booking into hotel if needed

I have to diasgree with the previous reviewer re the staff. i am just back and found the staff to be very helpful. the hotel is very grand on first appearances and the rooms are fine. the only thing is the walls are so thin, when a spanish couple moved in next door to us i felt i could have joined in with their conversation if only i could speak spanish! i finally had to put in ear plugs to get too sleep ( and i am not an early to bed person) So i think this would be a nightmare in high season. Food was okay something for everyone but not hot enough which seems to be the norm with all inclusives. Hotel was just too far out for us, but the number 2 takes you down town and the number 3 to shopping centre and along the front at the old town. it the hotel was even in the old town i might go back but just too far from entertainment, shops etc.

Room Tip: for a good view ask for the taller of the two buildings

Just arrived home from Gran Bali which could not have come soon enough. It was our first time for all inclusive and we were treated like 'beggars'. Made to queue in corner of bars and on one occasion, when bar staff went to serve people not in queue who arrived at bar, we told the bar staff we were first who replied "these are paying guests". We too are paying guests. The food was tolerable for a few days. The drinks were dreadful. When we initially arrived it was full of Spanish guests, however, once they went home the heating temperature was reduced along with the water temperature in the bathrooms.

4 friends and i travelled here for the november fiesta which was fantastic, all of us had a great time....except for the time spent in this over rated hotel !! the rooms were big and spacious but thats all that was good.... the food was terrible, hot food was cold, dry and tasteless, and cold buffet was served on warm plates!!! the drinks were watered down with ice (even when we requested no ice in drinks) there were to many limitations on so called " all inclusive", the staff were very rude especially towards many english guests.
This hotel looks very impresive in a broucher, but for a 4* hotel we found it very un-impresive.

Room Tip: beware when booking pictures are misguiding the only thing true are the rooms!!

My husband and I went to this hotel recently the 2nd of January to the 5th of January and fully all inclusive. It is 40 mins coach ride from the airport. The hotel on first impressions looks absolutely lovely. The staff are all friendly. We found out there were two Grand Bali hotels next to one another. There is a 43 storey one and joined to it is a 18 storey one which is where we stayed as that storey hotel has a bath and separate shower unlike the bigger one. The rooms were clean, the food is lovely for breakfast and not bad for lunch and dinner, its just its the same sort of food every day for the lunch and dinner. So got a bit bored with that but there were other little places if you fancied a change. The plates and cups were not too clean but just wipe them over or change for another one. Beach is absolutely lovely and little taverns along the beach are great.
Overall it was nice they just need to have a bit more of a change with their food. A+++

This was my second Christmas break at this hotel , I went back again because I enjoyed my first visit there. Again I thought it was a excellent stay , the hotel is clean staff very friendly . Our room was again in the smaller block but the room was spacious and very clean this time we had a balcony with views of the sea and Benidorm . The food was excellent the only criticism is that the food was not hot sometimes only warm you would think after all the comments about it they would do something about it . WiFi you have to pay for now I paid 10 euros for a week last time I was here it was free and it's only available in foyer. There was entertainment on but I did not bother with it but did seem ok but rather loud.
Overall I think it's a good hotel in a quiet location
