How this can rate 4 star and Platinum status beats me The pool was small in a corner upt to 2 solid walls staff totally uninterested dining room staff basically worked very hard but the people higher up only spoke to returning guests (probably expecting a good tip) How can a 4 star/platinum hotel not have a showerAND bath it was either or. Yes good position but our 2 star hotel of previous years just a road further back was far superior. The evening entertainment was an insult.

Myself and 2 friends were in this hotel last week. they gave us a larger room to sleep 3 people.
The food was really good, although we did think that sometimes it should have been a little hotter.Try the porridge at breakfast. Terrific! On monday evening we also had champagne, free with our meal!
The staff are wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble. Especially the reception staff.
On arriving home my friend discovered she had left some clothing in a drawer. One e mail to the hotel and it was sorted! They will post it to us. How kind is that?
Will definately go again.

Room Tip: All the rooms face the sea. Our room was a little bit bigger as it was on the end of a corridor. roo...

I have visited the Don Pancho numberous times, the first time in 1976. The hotel then was the height of luxury, classy furniture, beautiful decor, and well worth its 5 star rating. Yes, it did get a few dubious ladies in after dark but of the highest class!!!!! Over the years i can see it slowly losing all its former glory. Its still a very presentable hotel, but the quality of the food, and service are abmissably losing its class and therefore not worthy of its star ratings. The quality of the meat as a instance is extremley poor. The staff are not really bothered, apart from the odd one, And the so called entertainment is rubbish same old singers and the only attraction is for the spanish elderly couples mainly to fill their evenings in dancing and not buying other than an odd coffee but taking all the seats up!!!!! Time for a shake up and back to the good times for a lovely old hotel

Room Tip: Noisy on the front, but better than the back

This is my 3rd time to the don pancho..Just retturned from 11days The reason for my my new lower rating is ..The quality of food is one of the worst i have had at this hotel WHATS HAPPEND!! It used to be good..The service has also been worse than it used to be..The staff do not seem to be as happy as they used to be!! The rooms are being revamped but id rather have better food and service..I may try it again but il wait untill futher reports say its been inproved..

Room Tip: Pick a room on floors over 10 for best views

My partner and i have just returned from 2 wonderful weeks at this hotel.Being new visitors it was very exciting, and did'nt know what to expect. From our arrival at the hotel and Benidorm we new instantly that we were in for a good holiday,The staff were very friendly,Our room on the 7th floor was excellent,Very clean, comfortable, perfect. The food at the hotel is in our opinion the best we have had abroad,A good choice every night,The hotel does cater for mainly an older clientel but this didnt bother us. We went out in the old town every night which is lovely. As we are both in the entertainment business we didnt stay in to listen to the in house entertainment as we wanted to get away from our normal every day life,Although we did listen to a bit of the resident trio on our way out one evening which sounded good. The pool area is quite small, difficult to get sunbeds in the morning as there were a number of people that didnt obey the rules and kept leaving towels on them and "going off" but this did'nt matter as we used the beach most days. Many thanks to Raymond on reception who was always nice with a cheeky smile,And oh yes...We will be back,Thankyou to all at Don Pancho!

Booked a half board package for 7 nights in August 2012 with Thomson Holidays, great value for money.
The Don Pancho is located 5 min walk from the fantastic Levante Beach. Hotel rooms are all facing the sea, some rooms have better sea view than others but to be honest best are on the high floors away from the lifts. The rooms are comfortable and clean, cleaned daily by friendly house keeping staff, plenty of wardrobe space and Bathroom has a combined shower and bath, big plus is the free fridge in the room, saved a fortune on cold drinks.
Very little noise from the street or night clubs. Breakfast was as expected not brilliant but good enough for all. from English fry up to full continental. Evening meal again plenty of Varity with various buffet offering good food, Loved the Soups and Meat menu's. The restaurant insist then Men wear trousers, however Ladies are able to wear shorts and tee shifts. (why)
Take a trip into the old town, sit down, have a drink and watch the entire world stroll by in 20 minuets, also see how the Spanish enjoy a night out, they are chilled and relaxed, enjoying watching the tourist rushing around carry late night shopping souvenirs.
The New town or as we called it, little Manchester is packed with great nights spots with excellent or average entertainment. We managed to see, Amy Winehouse, Adele, Whitney. Drifters, Queen, Stylistics, Bay City Rollers, and many others, however the best show in town is at Morgan's Tavern, the act is, Sister Act, the feel good factor in excellent. Good vocals with a choice of songs that every body knows.
I know the Hotel is rated at 4 star, I believe this rating is about right for the Spanish holiday makers however UK and other tourist may not agree. For us it was a great value holiday for £900 for both in August at a resort we enjoy. Would I go back again, yes. If you want UK 4 star and above then be prepared to pay for it.

Room Tip: Sun bed rush starts about 7:30am, however the pool is small and does get unbearably hot during the d...
