“Absolutely perfect family holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013 via mobile

I booked this hotel through hotels4u for a short 6 day visit for myself, partner and son before visiting family in alicante. Having been in benidorm lots as a child and staying in the pelicanos several times I took no note of the bad reviews on here. From checking in to checking out we had an absolute brilliant time. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the woman at the dining area absolutely doted on my 2 year old son and was always saying hello to him. The food was basic but nice, the rooms were clean and always cleaned daily fresh towels and sheets. We had requested a low floor which we got.. We also needed a cot which was already there on arrival. The playpark my son loved. The swimming pools were absolutely out of this world my son had a ball he loved it, struggled to get him out the pool to go for a siesta most days. Sunbeds were kind of hard to get a hold of but that's to be expected in high season. Location is perfect and just a short walk to the beach. Overall we had a brilliant stay at a fantastic price, what more can I say!! DO NOT listen to the negative feedback on here some people are just to hard to please and love a good moan!! Infact we enjoyed ourselves that much we staying here again in july cannot wait!!!!

This the hotel where they film the series Benidorm , the standards here have slipped from a while ago and the food is of a much lower standard than it used to be , I would call it more of a manic canteen than a restaurant . Beware if travelling alone as your cups plates in fact everything will be cleared from tables whilst you collect a drink etc by the rude staff .

Room Tip: If you are going alone choose a different hotel or pay supplement to have normal room on any floor a...

Had a good weeks break at the hotel, Quick friendly check in and we got the floor we requested when we booked. The hotel was very clean and so was our room, bed were made up every day. Restaurant was clean and the waiter staff were great and friendly, food was good with a good varied choice with freshly cooked food done to your liking. Bar staff were also friendly and the entertainment was good in the evening. Hotel is very well laid out large pool area (best that I've seen), with swim up to bar which was closed because it was off season. Hotel is well situated in Benidorm, short walk to the beach and the Old Town was about a 10min walk away.
Plenty places round about for entertainment and good cheep drinks.

I really don't get people.. This hotel is spot on and deliver what they promise, nothing more, nothing less. Coplaining about not being able to watch english tv? Really?? This is Spain, not England. The only thing wrong with Pelicanos, and most of Benidorm, is that it's rather hard to find authentic spanish cuisine. Why on earth would anyone want anything else, on a holiday, in freaking Spain? I don't travel across the world and then eat McDonalds..

That being said, the english are ususally the easiest to please. They'll settle for crappy food and 1 star hotels, as long as stuff is cheap. I really don't get the amount of english pubs and restaurants in this city. Now I do enjoy british beer, but I'd prefer them in England. English food, not so much, but Id still prefer to eat british style food, in the UK.

The Pelicanos advantages is the great service, smiling personnel and the 4-star surroundings including the great pool. The food is probably only enjoyed by english people, who will settle for anything.

Sol Pelicanos is definitely worth a visit, and one of the better choices in Benidorm, especially if you wanna stay in the 'New town' area.

I would just advice people to learn the star-ratings that hotels are given. It's very simple rally, don't expect a 4-star hotel if it's not.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the pool makes great ambience in the late hours

The hotels general areas and rooms are clean but very basic and in need of a good updating, the staff were friendly and pool area lovely. Beware if cost like €18 to park €4 for wi-fi and €15 if we wanted an evening meal.we booked via a booking agent and the prices they were advertising with them were different. I did point this out to the hotel staff and showed them my paper work but they would not honour it. What a shame as it leaves abad taste in your mouth.
There are great bars opposite and lots of restaurants nearby so you don't need to pay there over inflated prices.

I am a travel agent in the UK and every year i arrange a weekend away for a group of us , last year i used this hotel and enjoyed it . We have just returned home and this year i noticed that the cleanliness has slipped but more importantly the standard of food has . Our group struggled to find something to eat in the evenings and found we were buying food out . The breakast is okay , the best part if this hotel is it's pool it's one of the best i've seen anywhere in the world . The location is great but be careful as there are lots if muggings around this area mainly romanians , please don't get caught in the potato scam either these people are thieves stay away from them . I won't be staying at this hotel next year i will go back to the venus it's much nicer .

Just got back from the Sol Pelicanos, and had another fab time, there were 18 of us. 3rd year running. The rooms are a good size, staff are very helpful and friendly, the hotel is very clean and the pools are amazing some of the best i've seen anywhere, the only downside was the food they must have changed chefs as the last twice we couldn't fault it but it was quite disapointing this time. Location is perfect for the bars, resturants and the evening entertainment as its right at the end of the main strip and its all on the flat, Its a five min walk to the lovely Levente beach and its a short bus/taxi ride down to old town unless you fancy a 30min stroll with loads of shops and all the little windy streets that lead up to the point were the views are stunning. Will be looking to go back again next year
