Dear joy,

Thank you for your opinion.

Refering to your complaint about the food, our menus are composed of salads, soups, sour cream, hot dishes, meats, fish, fried etc, every day, and we have a high level of satisfaction among our clients (80 % of satisfaction in our surveys).

I would like to inform you that we have a high percentage of Spanish, English and French customer in the Poseidon Complex. During your stay, the number of English customers in the hotel, exceeded one hundred people, not 26.

With reference to the entertainment program, we offer a wide variety of entertainment and activities every day: British singers, games, live music, flamenco shows, cabarets, etc.

With particular regard to the rep Jaclyn, she properly informed you about the number of english customers at the hotel and there weren´t other complaints.

Kind regards,
Ezequiel De Paz
Manager.

Hotel excellent and clean rooms comfortable, fresh variety of food, all very spanish style.Staff very pleasant. Location excellent for old town. Could not believe my ears when one solo geordie lady said that the place was horrible and she thought the food was bad etc. I cannot believe that anyone could complain like that but I guess theres always one. Trust me as a regular traveller that the 4 of us on this trip would highly recommend the Poseidon Palace.......just one big negative tho, the entertainment at night was dire and orientated for the Spanish. One night we could not even get a seat as all seating was occupied with mainly non resident locals who were there to sit and chat without having bought a drink.

We stayed at this hotel for one week in August 2012 all inclusive. It was very clean but that is all I can recommend about it. Evening dinner was not served until 8pm each evening. Much too late for us. Each time I ordered a cocktail the paying customers had it mixed by hand, I was given mine from a machine. (Every time.) ( I believe there was very little alcohol in it. If any.) My husband ordered a bar snack and was told the only bar snacks available to us were cheese and ham sandwiches wrapped in foil from the fridge (They were wet and soggy) There was never any ice cream and I was told on several occasions ( I stopped asking ) that no one had brought any through from the dining room. ( As far as I was aware none were ever brought.) Paying customers got priority every time at the bar. The evening entertainment was a joke for English customers. The organist thought that if he sang two or three words in English that was enough.

Room Tip: Higher floors have the best views

The hotel itself is of a good spec the rooms are good with comfortable beds and very clean. The staff were very friendly and the food was very good. The pool area is not so big and there were not many sun loungers available most of the time. Many people would leave their towels on the loungers and dissapear for the day which didn't help. About 90% of the occupants were Spanish most of which were of the more mature years. The volume of noise from these people was very excessive at times and with children constantly screaming and shouting around the pool area it was very difficult to chillout and relax. Perhaps the begining of September isn't the best time to visit this hotel if you are looking for a quiet relaxing time, however if you don't mind a lot of noise then this place is for you. The evening entertainment was ok which consisted of a guy playing spanish tunes on his keyboard until 10:30 so that all the Spanish old dears could have a dance after which there would be some kind of act, magic, parrot show depending on the night of the week each one lasted approx 30 mins. Overall not a bad place to go but personally not to be re-visited.

Dear keith s,

We regret to know that your stay was not to your liking. However, we wish to clarify some of your comments.

Both the quality of the food and the drinks is contrasted by periodic customer surveys. The results we get are usually around 80 out of 100 points.

Regarding the discriminatory treatment to all inclusive customers, we categorically deny it. The fact that we serve drinks in a different area only obeys to organizational reasons just to give a greater flexibility to bar service.

We ensure that our animation team plans its activities in the languages of all our customers. Usually, the most used languages are, in this order: Spanish, English, French and Dutch.

Finally, we believe that our schedules are tailored to the dining customs of all our clients, as each dining service lasts at least 2 and a half hours.

Family holiday - consisting of 2 fit and healthy ( but were dying to try out the "Madge" Mobility Scooters) OAP's, 3 40something (but think they're 20something), and 3 teenagers (brave to come away and be seen with us).
Right- hotel very clean, lovely rooms, spacious balconies (though concrete jungle views), good air conditioning, excellent cleaning service...they seemed to suss out when you went for breaky and cleaned your room then...so none of the awkward hanging out on the balcony while they change your bed, etc. Most of the staff were helpfull and friendly, though the odd one was abit abrupt or had forgotten how to smile. Food was great (remember its a 3*) and the staff always found us a table for 8. Bottles of Cava were available at breaky for Bucks Fizz...nice touch and great start to the day!. Drinks from the bar were good, named soft drinks eg Fanta, Sprite etc. The wine was a bit yuk for me, but the gin was very good (abit too good!). Snacks from the bar were a bit poor to be honest...cold dog / hot dog..one of those "you had to be there" episodes, so i wont go into it. But we were'nt really hungry anyway. TOP TIP: take nuts with you to have with your drinks...yummy! Great bar staff, often run ragged in the afternoon but never lost their cool. The bar inself was a very pleasent area to sit - cool and with tinted glass so you could watch everyone outside by the pool and think such things as "well if she can wear a bikini so can i".
Sunbeds were a bit of an issue. They were not unlocked till about 9.30am, when then it was abit of a stampede to get them. Abit mad really, but you find yourself on a mission to get a blue one....you'll know what i mean...blue = comfortable...white = backache.
Nice pools...water the warmest ive experienced.
There were no wristbands for All Inclusive, just a card you had to keep showing - bit of a pain but hey ho.
Location of hotel very good...pleasent walk to both old and new town. Old town was lovely...good shops, cafes, bars, nice front.....go in the morning when quieter.
New town - more for the youngsters really, but we did have an afternoon at Tikka Beach bar...great atmosphere, live music....BUT..beware of the huge measures of spirits...I say no more!! (mainly because i cant remember much more about it!!)
Dont expect your teenagers in before 7am, or up and out of bed before 3pm!.
All in all, a very good hotel...book it and ENJOY!!

Just got back on 14 August and very disappointed with the quality of drinks served as part of the all inclusive package and feel it was poor value for money. The list of what you can and can't have was very misleading as it said Spanish liquers were included but when I asked for a certain one I was told that only certain brands were included. In that case it should specify that only SOME are included. There is a special all-inc area at the bar so that you can be served drinks which are substandard to those of people paying at the bar. I complained to the Thomson rep and was told that she had raised this several times with the hotel management and that Thomsons want to get this changed but the hotel management won't budge. If Thomsons are aware of this then why are they continuing to sell it as A/I? A couple of times we asked for sandwiches and were told we couldn't have them as there was no one there to make them. The entertainment was geared mostly to the Spanish and they had the same chap singing almost every night as well as the main acts, so it got a bit boring. The food was OK, with some very good dishes and some really lousy ones.We were there for the Olympic closing ceremony and were watching this on the big screen in the Poseidon bar when one of the girls from the animation team just came in and switched it off without any explanation and when asked about this said sorry but she had to go home so it had to be switched off! So rude! We ended up going elsewhere to watch! A lot of the equipment (eg computers, air hockey, cash machine) was out of order for most of the 2 weeks we were there. A small gripe but these ARE facilities you pay to have. The lifts are so slow you end up waiting ages at busy times so request a low floor room. The staff are OK, not over-friendly but fine.

On the plus side - the hotel is in a good location for reaching the beach, the old town and the main strip, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the aircon is brillliant, the pools are nice although there aren't nearly enough sunloungers available by the bottom pool.

All in all, not a bad hotel but let down by the poor value all inclusive option.

Dear Customer,

Thank you for all your comments about your holiday in the Poseidon Complex this month of August.

We are indeed pleased to note that overall your impressions were favourable.

We have tried to be as informative as possible in the information sheet given on your arrival however it is true that not all Spanish brands are included whether they be liqueurs or whatever. We shall endeavour to be more precise in future.

We take note also of your comments about the Bar, equipment and entertainment programme where we have tried to be as international as possible especially in the high season months with guests from all over Europe.

We are sorry that the Animation girl appeared rude although apparently you unfortunately happened to be the last Clients there and the bar was about to close.

Once again many thanks for taking the time to inform us of your opinions which will no doubt serve to help improve our service in the future.
