We visited Pamplona in October 2013 for a couple of days. It was our first break doing the Camino and we were looking forward to sightseeing the city away from the busy festival times. We were really glad we stopped at the municipal albergue and found a leaflet from a company called Pamplona Food. We decided to give the Pamplona Experience that the company offers a go. The studio-shop-office is located in calle del Carmen, close to the private albergue. We spoke with Bea who was very helpful and arranged a visit to Pamplona for the following day. The Pamplona Experience was described as approx 2 hours walkaround plus 1 hour for local wine and product tasting at the studio, it sounded great! The following day Bea was brilliant, a very knowledgeable guide who spoke very good English. She showed us the real Pamplona and we felt very special getting to know local places that tourists don't normally get to see. It was a bit like a friend of ours was showing us interesting parts of the city. When we got back in the studio we had a wine tasting guided by Migueltxo, the friendly sommelier from Pamplona Food. We finished off with some pintxos made of the products that they sell in the shop. In the end it was a 4 hours experience rather than 3 hours, well worth the 25€ per person that the tour costs. You truly see the city in a different way after that. Can't recommend their services more highly, both Bea and Migueltxo were happy people, very knowledgeable, helpful and able to provide suggestions that enhanced our visit. They also offer visits where they mix culture and wine, Roman Villa, Cistercian Monastery and Olite Royal Palace, finishing up at a local bodega. We hope to get back with a bit of time and check these out!
