“Great little local place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2011

Clearly a local hang out. Good service, better Tapas. Nice wine. Reasonable prices. Get there early if you want a table outside. They were great about recomendations for different wines and tapas. We were 2 blocks from here so we went twice in the 5 days we were in Madrid.

“Fabulous wine and tapas bar”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2011

Near Atocha Station. A great find if you're staying at a hotel near the station. I visited twice last week and found it full of friendly locals. Good choices of Tapas and wines. Lovely little free tapas come when you order your glass of wine. And for wine drinkers, I must mention the wine glasses: the serving is small (about 125 ml) in a large fine wine glass. The best way to appreciate the vinos which were fabulous!

“Perfect little Tapas restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2011

We love this place. Found it by asking a local. The waiters were very friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Food was good without being expensive. ..and the menu was offered in English or Spanish - I had the violet icecream as a dessert and loved it . Atmosphere very cosy ...It filled up rapidly as the evening wore on . We intend to revisit Madrid as will definitely eat there again

“Wine bar with Excellent tapas!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2010

This is one of those typical tapas bars in Madrid but located outside of the common path of tourists and you will only get locals in the place.
The wine menu is massive (they actually give you a small booklet with all they can offer in wines) and there are the usual beers, drinks, etc. but the best part of this bodega is that they happen to have great food. Their tapas are oh so great and the raciones (portions) are consistent and nice to share. Their duck ham is yummy, the chorizo in wine is great (but heavy), the fried potatoes with egg are quite ok, the tapas (bread with stuff on top) are quite ok. Service is helpful, playful and capable of exceed expectations.
If you want to have a quiet area for dinner (well, not so much quiet as quieter than the rest) call and book requesting to be seated inside. They will give you a table on the inside restaurant part instead of on the outside bar area. The bar is really noisy and it is just packed. Do not even hope to be seated on a busy Saturday evening without waiting for over an hour.
If it is summer time or so... ask for a table outside (you will be given a table on the outside on the sidewalk which might be nice to have a glimpse at the people passing by, and this is Madrid, it is nice and warm outside!!)
Do not order seafood, it is not worth it and skip dessert entirely ... this is the only part that lacks quality.
The prices are not extremely low though but all in all they are worth the food/wine
Closed on Mondays!!!
Would recommend it without a doubt.
