“Dont be put off by its modern look”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2013 via mobile

Webwere recommended this place and went twice during our 5 day stay.
The tapas are superb - quality ingredients simply cooked.
The morcilla was amazing. Moist, spiced and cooked to perfection.
Great music, great atmosphere, quality food and chilled Madrilleños make for a quality evening's relaxation in the heart of Madrid.

“Very good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2013

I liked this place for the food, the crowd. I had a great salad, two fried items which were rich, the vino tino was done differently and was very good. I sat at the bar and enjoyed the crowd. I'd recommend for tapas.

“Fabulous tapas ”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 22, 2013 via mobile

This is a fabulous restaurant for a tapas lunch. The lemon granita was lovely and so refreshing after walking around the nearby museum for the morning! We had a selection of tapas. The patatas bravas is not to be missed as well as the jalapino bites and the tortilla! The restaurant had a very good atmosphere ans the staff were friendly ans efficient! Our bill came to under 20 euros for the both of us... All in all would highly reccommend!!

“Greate place for late-night bite”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2013

Since I live in London, I usually assume the best places to eat are the hidden places. This was not the case with Mercado de la Reina; in the heart of Madrid on one of the city's busiest streets, this is a great place to grab a bite.

I went here for a couple of glasses of wine and dishes of tapas and was very impressed with the service and the menu. The waiter was very friendly and I enjoyed a wide selection of tasty tapas in a stylish buzzing atmosphere.

“Great gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2013

We stopped here for dinner without reservation on Wednesday ; place was packed with locals enjoying tapas by the bar. The food was really excellent especially the smoked salmon and the seasoned tomato salad with tuna belly tossed in Modena vinaigrette . Prices were incredible (think cheap!!) and waiters were very helpful . The place gets pretty crowded so get there early to grab a table by the bar so you can watch the locals socialize. This is a really nice place to come to experience the culture
