“A must if you're new to Flamenco”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2012

I have seen better Flamenco technique in madrid, but I've never seen show with more passion.

If you're new to Flamenco, this place is a must. The dancers and musicians may not be the best in Madrid, but they take their art seriously and perform with real passion that draws you in and leaves you breathless.

The food is good value (there's lots of it) and the seating is comfortable with good views from everywhere in the room. The room is wide and short (relative to the stage) so try to get as close to the middle as possible for the best view.

If you try to photograph or video the performance, you will be quickly asked to stop by the staff. If you try to have a conversation during the performance, you will be reprimanded by the performers! Yes, they really take it seriously and the show is all the better for it.

If you want to see better technique, go to Corral de la Moreira where you will see some of the best dancers in Spain. But the audience is usually full of tourists who talk through the performances an there is no real passion coming from the stage.

“Very enjoyable!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2012

The restaurant is in a great location near the cava baja, but it's a little confusing to find because it's on a side street that is awfully quiet. A GPS is helpful. I made a reservation online with their program through the "fork." The process was slightly confusing. For certain times, you have to get the set dinner, but for other times you can just go for drinks. Cost is 33 euros pp and that includes a drink. We also got carrot cake and it was fantastic! The food looked pretty good, but I can't actually comment on it. The show last a little over an hour and was very enjoyable.

“Flamenco up close”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

This is the place to go to view real Flamenco, not the touristy stuff. It is a small specialist club with a restaurant and bar, emphasis on small! If you get the front seats then you are in touching distance of the stage, if further back then still within facial expression range. An evening here will stick in your mind for years, it is that awesome a show. The dancers and musicians are world class, and many teach the art to others. The passion and excitement will overwhelm you so put up with anything to get here for a show.

“Great Show!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2012

We were very excited about seeing flamenco performed in Madrid and Las Carboneras was the perfect place to do so! Booking was super easy online. We chose the show + drink option and think we had a better view of the show than most of the diners. The dancers were superb! It was an awesome experience and definitely recommend it to anyone and everyone.
