“Old School Madrid”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013

Went here with a local friend who showed me around town. Great atmosphere, friendly waiters and amazing old-school food. Fries with eggs, great jamon and meat dishes. One of the best and most authentic places in Madrid.

“Blah.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2012

Overpriced. You can find better. If you pop in here, don't bother buying a tapa. Just eat your meat and nuts and go to the next one.

“Rude, Overbooked, and Not That Nice”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2012

So this place is clearly a very touristy restaurant; fairly good reviews. But when I got there it was obvious that they were way over-booked and that we would not be seated anywhere near our 3:30pm reservation. And the owner's daughter was RUDE and loud and pushy. We had some very good food in Madrid. I doubt we missed much when we walked out without eating here.

“Great traditional venue without being touristy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2012

It's a classic...and always wonderful to see Lucio taking care of people so well. The charcuterie was amazing in my humble opinion and everything we had was great. The feel is old world Madrid with the very dark wood beams, yet the white walls and table clothes keep it light and cosy. Worth a visit anytime.

“Of a good standard”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

This place is good and won't disappoint for those seeking traditionally good Spanish tapas. It is a bit expensive and fails a bit in terms of friendly service (I don't know why is it that we kept running into the waiters on their grumpy days?). Wine list is respectable, the quality is good. What we didn't like was that they didn't wow us on their egg dishes. Guess the hype about celebrities visiting the place got them slowing down in the food department? Still, not a bad place to eat even if it's not spectacular.
