My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Suites Viena for 2 nights. We are in our early 30s.

Hotel Suites Viena is a very nice and clean hotel. It is furnished with modern furniture and there is a free lockbox available for usage. The bed was two beds (I believe full sized) pushed together. Pillows plush and sheets clean. I didn't get that itchy feeling like there might be bed bugs with this bed. The bathroom was clean with a tub which had half a door to it - first time I had seen this but surprisingly the water didn't go all over the floor.

It is located on a small street near Plaza Espana. There is a school across the street but we did not really notice the noise in the morning - our room was on the fourth floor facing the school. The staff were nice and spoke English. They gave us some good recommendations for places to eat - La Barraca ended up being our favorite place for paella.

It is not right in the middle of the touristy area which we like but it was close enough for us to walk to the Palace, Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol within a few minutes.

The hotel is within 2-3 minutes walk to the subway which is in general very easy to use. We paid for a taxi on the way to the hotel which cost 30 euros but used the subway going to the airport for 2 Euro. There is one change but very easy to do even if you don't speak Spanish. If we had known, we would have taken the subway to the hotel as well. We got on at the Plaza Espana stop. There is also a small grocery store within a minute or two of the hotel.

I would recommend this hotel.

I stayed 5 nights at Sercotel Suites Viena in Madrid. Unfortunately the wheather was terrible, the city was flooded and our spacious balcony / terrace ( 4 chairs+ table, 20 square meters) remained just a reminder that the Madrid has good wheather too...
We paid an extra 20 euro's per night to upgrade to a suite since they didn't offer regular rooms with a balcony. The suite is a good size with plenty of storage space. The bathroom is small (1 basin, bath and wc) but clean. A kitchenette in the sitting area with a small fridge/freezer, microwave and 2 burners. You will need assistance from the receptionist to get kitchen utensils (a pot to boil water for tea f.i.) and to switch on the main plug for the kitchen appliances. You'll be able to make breakfast and nescafé, but with just 1 pan, don't expect to do much cooking. The staff is helpful and friendly. They provided umbrellas (much needed) and wheather reports (bad news).
The airconditioning/heating, the laminate floor, the blackout curtains, the good-sized bed and comfortable modern furniture made our stay a very comfortable one (despite the endless rainstorms). I would recommend this hotel to anyone for any purpose: business (good desk and free wifi), family (kitchenette= ideal with children, quiet and safe location) or citybreak (near royal palace and bike rental next door).

The hotel is very well located in a quiet street, close to Plaza de Espana & Ventura Rodriguez metro stations. The staff are very friendly and helpful, with excellent service from housekeeping.
We did not take breakfast in the hotel but used the Cafe Viena (same owners), just up the road.

The room was good, except for the design of the shower area, which really needs something to stop the water going all over the floor!
Although you can ask for crockery, cutlery, etc., which was brought quickly and willingly, the kitchen area is not really very suitable for self-catering. If you want to make coffee, suggest you bring your own coffee jug and kettle!
