Excellent service and friendliness. The personnel was very attentive to our needs. The duplex was beautifully trendy and felt like home. The Breakfast was amazingly rich and diverse with freshly baked bread and pastries every morning. The location is fantastic, right in the center of busy Madrid yet secluded enough to provide rest and tranquility when sought.
All in all an excellent Design Hotel very well priced for the value. A must when visiting Madrid for pleasure or business alike.

My wife and I stayed at the Room Mate Laura in Madrid in June 2008. Some friends of ours recommended Room Mate Oscar, but it was booked. Room Mate Laura is an excellent find. It is very modern, minimal, and chic. The place is very clean and well designed. Our room was very comfortable and quiet. We had a sofa and mini-kitchen. The staff were all very helpful and spoke several languages. The breakfast was the most comprehensive I've ever had in Europe. We had full meals rather than the "continental" portions we are accustomed to receiving in Europe. The location is great. Room Mate hotels offer a very good value. I would stay with Room Mate in any city where they are located and would recommend them to everyone I know. Stay here and you won't regret it.

Really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Exceeded our expectations in terms of great design and fabulous customer service. The breakfast is lovely with fresh fruit platter everyday- makes up for all the greasy tapas!
The reviews I had read complained about the hard beds but they didnt bother us at all.

The location was great and the cost was really good for what you recieved.

Only two things could have been improved:
1) the walls to the next room were quite thin and we heard everything going on next door!
2) We had a steep slant to our room on the top floor and the couch was positioned underneath it...so the first time I used the couch I almost knocked myself out from the ceiling...had to walk stooped over in that section of the room...but not a problem by the bed area.

Despite the above two points the positives definately outweigh the negatives and I would recommend staying there...keen to try the rest of the room-mate chain now...I hear there are hotels in Miami & New York.

Couldn't fault this hotel in any way. The location is great, a short stroll from the Gran Via and many other inner city offerings. The room (Duplux Delux) was spacious across 2 floors, clean and contemporary style. Everything was made easy for us. Would definately consider room mate next time.
