“Fantastic!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2010

Very different place, well run and warm welcoming. We spent 2 nights and was very hard to leave!! We loved the great atmosphere inside and also the wireless internet come useful with my iphone. The staff is always available to help you and make your staying at the top!
I would recommend Casa de Madrid with no reserve.

My husband and I just spent 4 nights here in the 'Leaf' room. The Casa is in a perfect location (will be even better when the construction of the plaza in front of the Opera is finished which will be very soon). It was not at all a hotel experience, but a visit to Marta's home which is elegant, gracious and comfortable. A lovely place to return to after a day or evening out and a perfect base from which to explore Madrid.

Really lovely place. Beautifully decorated, and a genuinely warm welcome. Excellent location. Owner, manager and staff try very hard to please. Perhaps most suitable to a romantic weekend break

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at Casa de Madrid. We thought the experience was unique and really gave us a sence of being at a home away from home. The service was so personal. The staff always smiled and were extremely flexible with us (check-out and various requirements).

Excellent breakfasts with a spectaular view of the Opera and the Palace.

Marta, the owner is a special person and has a fantastic presence. You get the feeling that you could sit down and talk with her for days.

Definitely stay there if you can.

I was seduced by the pictures of the murals and eccentric decor. All of this was as beautiful as pictured, and you really feel you are staying in an old palace (which you are). What I hadn't expected was the kindness of the owner - who when she knew I was interested in the decor showed me round personally, even into her own rooms! In addition, our flight arrived very late and even at midnight there was someone to greet us. This is a quirky fun place to stay if you don't like feeling you're in a Hilton. Plus, the staff are all really kind - you're treated more like family.

We stayed in the Demascus suite and if it is available I would highly recommend it. We bought food at the market by The Plaza Mayor and had meals in our own dining room that had a small kitchen, as we had been traveling and eating in restaurants for too long! The bathroom is small, but everything else about the suite made up that. The staff at the hotel are wonderful, discreet and helpful. They cooked and served really nice breakfasts for us. The TV was modern with a DVD player and there was a CD player with a good selection of CDs. I would highly recommend Casa de Madrid for relaxation and romance. We will definately return.
