“Exceptional staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago

I spent 4 peaceful and comfortable nights here as a first-time tourist in Madrid. The hotel is very close to a metro station but walking to the main landmarks is perfectly feasible. Although the public areas and rooms are functional rather than luxurious (as you would expect for the price), the staff provide an exceptionally friendly and helpful welcome which outclasses hotels in a much higher price bracket. I would definitely stay in this hotel again.

The Ibis centro is well located, very close to Bilbao metro which takes you straight in the centre of the city (3 stops). It's also on the main line for Atoche & Chamartin train stations. Walking to Gran Via takes about 25 min. We found the hotel staff extremely friendly and helpful. Most of them speak English & French too. Free internet at reception and free wifi in the room. Our room on the 2nd floor was spacious and the bed very comfortable. it was quiet too but admittedly with the window shut. We didn't try the breakfast as there were a few good cafes round the corner on calle Fuencarral (especially Le Pain Quotidien). We had a lovely stay at the Ibis centro which was very good value for money.

The Ibis is located one minute walk from Bilbao metro station, you can reach all touris parts of Madrid within minutes by metro. The hotel is comfortable and clean and the staff are excellent. Breakfast is available (about 7 Euros) which includes tea, coffee, cereals, croissants, bread, cold meat, fruit juice and toast. An evening meal is also available and basic food can be obtained 24 hours a day.

If you're looking for a good value for money base to do the main sights of Madrid you need look no further

The hotel location is great, convenient walk to every intersting site. The rooms are more spacy than any urban Ibis I had stayed in before. But the jewel in the crown is the staff. What a friendly and pampering attitude!! The only downside is not with the hotel but with the Madrid's youth's behavior on weekends.

We stayed there for ten days. Hotel is located not far away from city center so you can go by foot to e.g. Plaza del Sol about 15-20 minutes. But closest neighbourhood (especially very nice Calle Fuencarral with many trees) is also full of shops, restaurants and so on. There is a Carrefour Express market 5 mins form hotel.

The quickest way to reach hotel from airport is to go by local train line cercanias C1 to Recoletos station and next go by foot to the hotel (about 15 min.). You can go also by shuttle bus or metro, but you should make some changes and carrying your bags on hundreds of stairs during your trip. Nearest metro station is Bilbao located only 100 m from hotel.

It's typical Ibis hotel. Room was not very spacious but OK for couple of nights, with one big bed. There is a set of shelves, desk and one chair. Toilet and shower in quite big bathroom equipped also with hairdryer. TV with some international programs and internet with 4-day free password.

Very nice staff, people speak english quite well. They helped me to make check-in to my back flight. But you must carry your suitcases to reception at 1st floor with your own hands - the small lift didn't work.

Room Tip: Best solution to see center of Madrid by foot
