No quarms from me on this hotel, and i would return everytime.

If you are simply looking for an affordable yet comfortable base then their is no better place in Madrid. You are away from all of the hussle of the City Centre but well within touching distance to get to all sights needed. I stayed with 12 friends here, and the place was ideal for our stay. We wanted to see the delights Madrid had to offer, so a 5 star hotel would have been wasted as we spent most of time away from the hotel. On arrival the staff were extremley friendly, and made our ignorance as British tourists simple by speaking English. Their was bar to grab a drink, and vending machines to get any snacks late at night (early morning!). In the area of Torrelaguna their are a number of bars/restaurants to grab a bite to eat or drink. In terms of transport it cost 15 Euro from teh Airport to teh hotel, and then 9 Euro for teh hotel to the City Centre in an evening. During the daytime you can get the number 53 bus from directly outside the hotel for 1 euro for a direct route to Puerto del Sol, this bus runs until 11pm.

All in all i would recommend this hotel to anyone especially at the rate we got! £110 per room for 3 nights!

I have to agree with the previous remarks by caseypaul.
Everthing was fine and very clean.
It did the job at a good price.
Breakfast was basic and internet v.expensive.
The hotel is in a nice area, next to some good looking restaurants.
Could of done with a loo brush though!?

Stayed here on business as part of a group from 20 - 24 April 2008. Accommodation was booked by our host so we had no choice in the matter.

Travelodges are generally fine if all you need is a clean bed for the night and a quick bite to eat in the morning. This Travelodge is no exception. Staff were helpful and generally quite friendly.

As a hotel for Madrid sightseeing, I would not recommend this hotel. Although it is only a +/- 25 minute bus ride from the centre, you can find much cheaper, better and more characterful hostales (small hotels) right in the centre so why stay all the way out in Torrelaguna?

Ate breakfast at the hotel on day 1 only. Selection was poor and quality likewise. Dreadful coffee. There's a cafe/bar across the street (beside the OpenCor mini-market) which is much better and cheaper too!

As you might expect, facilities for business customers are next to non-existent. The bar (which seems to be always closed) is just an extension of the breakfast area and not conducive to chat and relaxation. Internet access is available but charged at a whopping €12/hour. Rooms are very clean but spartan. Bathrooms equally so. Shampoo, gel and soap are very, very low-end and are not replenished for the length of your stay - bring your own!!

If your business takes you to this part of Madrid, I cannot recommend the Travelodge Torrelaguna for the reasons stated. If you are planning a leisure trip, stay in the centre and soak up the wonderful noche de Madrid!!!

Sorry Travelodge but this hotel should be on the side of a motorway not in leafy suburban Madrid!!!

Very good. I stayed here for four nights. Friendly English speaking staff. Good breakfast for 7.5 Euros. Bus outside and Metro within 20 minute walk. Would definately stay here again. Even had a bath which I like in a hotel room. Get the 122 bus to the end of the line at Campo de las Naciones and you are one stop from Terminals 1, 2 and 3 and three stops from Terminal 4 on Line 8 ( Pink one ). Even I managed it and I have no sense of direction!
