“Average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2014

Ate here after reading rave reviews on trip advisor and couldn't understand what all the fuss is about.

Small and average tapas bar (of which there are at least 20 more in the same street).

Limited menu and the dishes we sampled didn't blow our socks off.

Perfectly OK - but don't go with expectations of anything out of this world.

“Tiny gem...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2014 via mobile

Just came back from our tapas run and chose this Taverna because of the TA reviews. First let me say, on this street of soooo many tavernas, I am glad I checked this one out first online. I might have been swayed by the crowds down the street but sooo glad we didn't. We walked in and at first we were a tad shocked by the size. But the charming owner/ waitress assured us there was room for us down the stairs. Sure enough, she cleared a table for four pronto! The boys had beer and the girls had red wine. We ordered: tomatoes and mozzarella stack, meatballs, cheese platter and some cold tomatoes puréed . Everything was delicious. Plenty to share and the waitress just kept running up and down the stairs for whatever we asked for ( we went thru 4 baskets of bread it was that good). You won't go wrong here for sure!!

“This should be closer to number one in Madrid.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2014

Have eaten out a lot in Madrid, Including the number one. This was fantastic. I am celiac and the owner is so proud of her wares that It really shows. Everything is so tasty and well presented. The red wine is one of the best too. Nice relaxing atmosphere, so trusting that I never even checked the bill.

“Worth calling home.....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2014

We ate here twice during our 3 day visit to Madrid. A small tavern/tapas bar, Josemi the Chef-owner made the place our home. He suggested dishes and wines with a few complimentaries!....

Absolutely superb were the caneloni with cod puree, the prawn tartare and the fish balls with green curry....... Additionally the warmth and friendliness was a home away from home. Off the beaten path but worth the find.
