Chose this hotel because it was on the outskirts of Madrid with parking, near to the airport.

Good job we had sat-nav in our hire car as we'd never have found it otherwise. And after a night out the only way the taxi found it was also using sat-nav! The hotel is situated in a residential area with no facilities nearby.

As for the accomodation, the rooms are lovely, modern, clean and comfortable. The breakfast is excellent.

The dinner was good if a little expensive. One bugbear was that we came back early from Madrid on a saturday evening to eat, and found that the restaurant was closed. With no restaurants or bars nearby we had to go without any food or head back into Madrid. As the taxi we'd got earlier in the day had got 7 euros already on the clock before we even got in it, we decided to call it a night and just go to bed. (We could have got a bus, but it stops running at 11.30). We weren't warned of this closure beforehand which was a little amiss of the hotel.

I wouldnt stay at this hotel again, purely beacuse there is nothing nearby and it is just too far out of town. Get somewhere within walking distance of at least a metro station. Such a shame because the accomodation was very good.

“Nice modern hotel but that"s about it”

We arrived at the hotel on the Sunday night, hotel looked ok,we asked if there was a bar which we assumed had some food bearing in mind this was about 9pm. Well there was a bar but no food! Tried room service- this was not available so after leaving the Uk at 3pm we have peanuts and drinks from the mini bar for dinner. We thought never mind breakfast will soon be here and planned to have a swim or perhaps go to the advertised gym.Breakfast was good, waiters lovely. We thought we'd ask about the swimming pool after all this was the reason we picked this 4 star hotel which we knew was 17km from the city.Surprise surprise swimming pool was closed.I want to know why it did not state in the website that the swimming pool was closed and the gym was not in use neither. This would have been a great hotel to chill out if everything that it advertised was true.I certainly will not stay there in a hurry!

“Clean Hotel but that is about it!”

I booked a weekend break in Madrid with lastminute which placed us in Zarzuela Park Hotel. The Hotel as the other reviews have said is nice and clean but consider the hotel has only been open for 1 year so it should be. We arrived late September 05 in Madrid to a nice 29 degrees Celsius and could not wait to take a swim in the Hotels advertised swimming pool. We asked if we could have the key to the pool only to be told that it was closed as we had arrived "out of season". They informed us that the pool closes mid September. I was very annoyed by this as neither lastminute or the hotels website (eurostarshotels) said anything about the pool closing. We picked this hotel as we wanted to relax by the pool in the very hot weather that Madrid has this time of the year. The hotel has a very nice garden and outdoor area around the pool which would have been nice to use but the Hotel has no furniture to sit on at all so you have to sit on a wall which becomes very uncomfortable after a few minutes. They have I think 4 tables with 4 chairs for each table outside the cafe/bar area which after about midday is in the shade. The bar was advertised in the Hotel Guide in room as being open on Saturday from 2pm until midnight. I fancied a beer as I was on holiday so waited from midday until 2pm for the bar to open. This never happened so I found a member of staff and asked him if I could buy a beer from the bar as it was supposed to be opening at 2pm. The answer I got was "not today" I queried the hotel guide with him and he looked at me and said "not today, we will open at 8pm and shut at 11:30pm. This is not good enough when the hotel advertises differently in it's guide. The hotel is in the middle of a residential area so the nearest place to buy anything at all is Moncloa whish is 10 minutes bus ride away. Also as the other reviews have said, Taxi's do not know where it is and if they do they don't always want to take you. The bus (161) runs from Moncloa to right outside the hotel but stops running at 11:30pm. Madrid only starts to get busy at night around 11pm so the bus finishes a bit early. My girlfriend and I stood on the side of the road in Moncloa hailing taxis for each of the 3 nights we where there and each time at least 4 taxis refused to take us before one did and we even made sure we had a detailed map of how to get to the hotel by car from Moncloa. Junction 9 off the A6. Some taxis just said no, some said not out of the city.
The Hotel has 2 tennis courts which are nice but they are undersized. There is also absolutely nothing to do for children whatsoever. This didn't affect me but just something to note
The Hotel is clean and quiet but if you want to go for a break in Madrid and to see the capital then I would advise staying in the centre. If you want to relax at the hotel it is very quiet so you could do this but bring your own chair. By the way breakfast there is a buffet style breakfast and costs 10 Euros. Get a better breakfast and cheaper in Madrid. The hotel is obviously understaffed, they weren't rude but they weren't that helpful either.

The down side was taxis didn't know where it was. The hotel was beautifull with the rooms airy and clean. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced. The staff were all very helpfull at all times. There was a bus stop outside the hotel which was a bonus as the hotel is in a quiet part of the city suburbs.

Lovely new hotel with a lot of potential, but the staff were mainly hopeless! Beautiful terraces arranged around a swimming pool, but no chairs, tables, loungers or anywhere to sit except on a wall. Food in the restaurant was good, although we were not offered a dessert or coffee and nobody gave us a bill or even recorded what we had eaten. This ended up in our favour as when we checked out the receptionist apologised for their inefficiency and charged us much less than the real cost! Very good location for getting into Madrid as buses pass hotel every 10 mins and there is free parking. Rooms clean and pleasant.
