“Clean, spacious room near airport”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2011

Air Europa put us up in this hotel after a delay. It's somewhat of a grand hotel — huge and its gigantic halls are museum-like. There's lots of art and sculpture and people were even stopping to take pictures. That said, it's also a little sad, just because it tends to feel somewhat empty because of its size. My room was fabulous. View wasn't great, and it was a bit of a walk from the lobby (the hotel really is that big) but there were gorgeous hardwood floors and an exceptionally comfortable bed. Very, very clean room and bathroom. Bathroom is spacious too. Of course, the downside is that the Auditorium is in the middle of nowhere. It's very close to the airport, of course. But no clue how you would get to the center from here sans taxi. The airline gave us a free buffet at the hotel's dining hall. Food was decent. Service here is fine but no one is what I would call friendly, exactly. Took forever to get a drink at the bar, even though it was rather empty. But I wasn't going anywhere, so I suppose it didn't matter.

“Monstrous Hotel - Rooms ok - Service desastrous”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2011

The Auditorium hotel is a huge monstrous hotel close to the airport. Hotel owns shuttle bus which collects guests from the airport: just walk in front of the airport terminal and dial the number shown at the bus stop for information. I had to wait for 15 min which is definitely ok.
The rooms are clean and big. The quality of the bed - nothing to nag about. Cable internet for free. Unfortunately the hotel disco was on when I was there and so I had the pleasure of hearing disco music in my room until early in the morning. :-(
Room price is absolutely ok. Meal prices are a straight rip off and quality is bad. Dinner buffet is 25 EUR standard price per person and breakfast is 17 EUR. For dinner I decided to have a soup which was 8 EUR (too much for bad quality). The coffee was just tanned water - undrinkable. Waiters not particularly friendly.
Unfortunately I left a shirt in the hotel room which - despite of calling - nobody really cared about so I never had it back. Comment: it is not in the computer, so the shirt was not in the room. ... SURE ....
Conclusion:
Hotel is ok for an overnight stay , not more. Apart from the room anything else is a clear rip off (dinner, breakfast, parking, ...). Can't recommend eating there. For breakfast you might be better off at the airport or at any bar along the streets in Madrid.

“Thanks USAirways for putting us up in this hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2011

We had a chance to stay at this hotel when we were bumped from our flight home. This is the hotel in Madrid where most of the airlines put up their bumped passengers. We were given a very spacious room to stay and exchanged our $7 meal vouchers for all you can eat and drink buffet. All you can eat seafood, paeila, beef (lots of beef) and all you can drink water and wine. We ate the lunch buffet and I pretty much wanted to pass out but instead took the airport van to the airport and took the metro from the airport to downtown Madrid. This hotel is mainly used for conferences and at the time an HP conference was taking place.Dinner was even more amazing and lasted till 11PM. We were seated at a table with more bumped passengers from Mallorca and talked about life around the world, drank more wine and ate shrimp (prawns) bigger than my hand. The folks from Mallorca said these were average size and they have larger at their island. I would love to get bumped and stay at this hotel. Otherwise way too out of the way from downtown Madrid.

“it's close to the airport - that's all!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2010

Oh what a disappointment. Travelled to Madrid for a week long business meeting and could not believe it when we saw the hotel. thought it was some kind of mistake. Stuck in a time warp in the 1970s with dreadful tired decor and poor rooms. No wireless facilities in rooms. Didnt take my socks off in the room all week.

“sometimes the stuff makes the difference”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2010

A very very nice clean spacious hotel, with so many to provide to its every customer, but with a HUGE disadvantage, apart from 2 ladies at the reception, nobody else spoke English. So it was impossible for a non Spanish- speaking customer to communicate in any way. Moreover, the waiters were rude and unfriendly. So, if you speak Spanish i would probably recommend this hotel to you but if you don't, think twice.
