What a place to stay right in the middle of Madrid close to all main places to see, location location, The Palace, restaurants, shops, shops & shops. The Hotel is only 2 star but it does have style from the first impression when entering the hotel it's boast quality.
Our bags were taken from us as soon as we stepped through the door, taken up to our room which was delightfull roomy, modern clean bright on the 4th floor over looking the main street. No cars only people and very busy at weekends.
There was a mini bar in the room, great modern stylish bathroom with very unusual sink, shower with toiletries don't get that in some 3 stars! The double bed (2 singles put together) were comfortable with 32in tv, sadly no English channels but what the heck we were in middle of Madrid.
Free wifi even in your own room, aircon, double glazed windows with shutters, so you can leave your window open to get fresh air. The staff were great and so was the breakfast, based on 6 floor, who needs fruit and yogurt (from other reviews) when you have rolls, cerials, ham, cheese, croisants, pasteries, toast & jams with a range of differant tea's, drinking choc, & coffee.
There is also cofffe & cold drinks vending machine on the lower level but plenty of cafe's, bars and restrauants near by including Gino's right next door which was great, does not look anything from outsde but main restaurant down stair's food great.
We were here for 6 nights and it was well worth it, we had a late flight back so we were able to leave our bags in reception, nothing was to much trouble one of the best hotels we have stayed in.
Most restaurants do tapas deals these are ok but be careful plenty to choose from like Cafe & Te' to the right as you come out of the hotel just about 300 yds away on the corner, menu of the day including choice of starter, main wine or beer with cake or coffee.
To the left of the hotel down the street near the Opera is another good tapas Le Mario but don't have the main menu is over priced and basic no quality very poor.
Highier floor or at the back but there are only a few of them most are over looking the main street...
