“Great Location, pleasant product”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2012

This hotel came recommended by a friend.

The sensible size rooms are nicely decorated and some thought had gone into the bathroom design and amenities. The beds were especially comfortable and our room had black out curtains.

Many reviews have made a big deal of the front street noise. We stayed overlooking the rear, which was quiet as a ghost. My guess is that noise is not an issue on higher floors?

Employees were helpful and plentiful.

Breakfast has had its praises sung, but we thought it OK but definitely not magic. Good coffee. Not enough fresh items for my dime.

Free wifi, but not great speeds. Not possible to Skype at certain times ~ a usage issue.

The great win for this hotel is location, 10/15 minutes more or less from anywhere. You will not need your metro tourist pass and will return home healthier for having put a few pedestrian miles on the clock.

Good value

Room Tip: Pay the extra for a room with a balcony (you will need to ask for a chair and table) at the rear of...

Dear guest

First of all, thank you so much for your comments. We really appreciate your contribution. You are right saying that noise is not a big issue when staying at higher floors, and I will even at back side, rear and interior rooms. The rooms at the front side are overlooking Gran Vía Street which is one the most important streets in Madrid, full of shops, restaurants,... But we are glad to say that our rooms are well soundproof when the windows are close.
Usually our breakfast satisfies our guests but we will be very pleased of knowing your recommendations at h10.villa.delareina@h10.es.

Hopefully you will keep recommending H10 Villa de la Reina. Best regards from our staff.

The hotel was very clean, well kept and modern decor. The breakfast was fresh with many options and delicious coffee. It is a very short walk to the metro and the main attractions in downtown Madrid. No complaints.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights (27 Sept-1 Oct 12) in room 302 overlooking Gran Via. Room was nice with hard wooden floors and a large bed. Bath area was separate from sink area (bathrooms were a little old and grimy compared to the room). Great location (2 secs from Gran Via station). However reception staff were abrupt, lazy and rude. Our room card keys kept -also timing out. There are a couple of Japanese restaurants behind the hotel - we ate at Kia - which was an attempt at "Japanese Fusion" - poor sushi but ok cooked cod and ok miso soup - but very expensive (we needed a break from Tapas).

This was a very nice hotel in a great location. The rooms are very modern and clean. We had a room with a huge balcony. It is an easy walk to the the subway, and a quick subway trip from the airport. It is in a very good location with easy access to different sights in Madrid. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would definately stay again!

I´ve been twice at Villa de la Reina. I really like very much this hotel . It was a modern hotel in a old palace. The rooms are great with designer furniture and decoration. Very good bath and a great sleep. The breakfast is very good, almost complete. The reception staff is attentive and gives lots of good informations . The locations is also very good, near many attractions and close to Puerta del Sol and Plaza Cibelles. I recommend indeed.

Room Tip: I loved my room it faced Gran Via, has a small balcony . There was no noise at all.

Stayed here for 3 nights and found the hotel to be very comfortable and all staff very friendly. Great bar with drinks at reasonable prices and free Tapas. The Spanish cycle race was on the Sunday, unknown to us when we booked, and passed immediately in front of the Hotel with a great atmosphere. Breakfast was good but room very cramped around the buffet area. The quiet rooms are at the rear looking into lightwells through frosted glass, so no view, but then we were out all day visiting this great city. Even in these rooms some traffic noise could be heard at night, mainly the sirens.

Room Tip: Quiet rooms at rear.

The room and bathroom are a decent size compared to what we experienced in Italy. There is free computers and printer that you can use on the lobby. The complimentary breakfast is very nice, good selection of hams, cheeses, coffee, fruits, pastries, hot eggs, sausage and cereals. Less than 10 minute walk from La Puerta del Sol and about 20 minutes from Prado Museum.

The lobby area has a bar with large TVs and a nice sitting area. I had some wine there and was given some complimentary tapas and peanuts.

The bathroom is stocked with toothbrush kit, soap, shampoo, lotion, shoe shine sponge, shower cap, comb, shower gel, and tissues.

Thanks a lot fot your comments! We love to hear that your stay has been so good at H10 Villa de la Reina. Certainly, we have an Internet Corner for our guests without extra cost, but also the hotel has free wifi available.
Our Bar Lobby La Villa is nice to have a drink or some Spanish Tapas overlooking Gran Via Street. It has a nice Gin & Tonic menu.
