“Perfect airport hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013 via mobile

I regularly stay at this Best Western. It is far enough away from the airport that I do not hear any typical car or jet traffic, it is in a quiet section of Barajas with affordable cafes and restaurants, and the staff is incredible. If you stay in a single room, it is cramped. Lets be honest, you just want a shower and a nice bed. It's a perfect layover room. I went with my wife one year and the larger rooms are much better and have a decent view. Still, this is not a couples retreat overlooking the Prado. Nor should it be. The staff is very helpful, the rooms and the lobby are very clean, and since it is only a stop before and a stop after the main airport terminals, you have a quick metro ride to your destination in the morning.

No the best Best Western but good. The shuttle service is very good and convenient, was fast to get there with their transportation. The bed was not very good, but for one night is okay. The breakfast was fantastic, a good selection of fresh fruits, juices, ham, eggs, breads... Its also very good to have a vending machine to buy a sandwich or something to drink, very convenient. Good price.... just good.

I stayed here for a few days, whilst attending a conference. The hotel is out near the airport, just a few minutes walk from the metro station in between the two terminals at Barajas airport. It took around 45-50 minutes by metro to get to the heart of downtown but the metro was clearn fast and felt very safe. The hotel is on a main street, but the room was very quiet and peaceful. The breakfast was OK, but nothing special. The rooms were small but the wireless was free which was nice. It was also pretty good in terms of speed (I downloaded a couple of product DVDs overnight at pretty reasonable download speeds). There was also a free shuttle to the airport and to the convention centre which was great. The staff were charming and friendly. The only down side was I found the bed very uncomfortable but I was having trouble that week with my back. All in all a good stay, and I'd stay again were I to attend another conference there.

The proximity to the airport is just one of the reasons we chose to stay here on our layover from Rome. It is also a trusted name with Best Western so that was another reason. The shuttle to the airport was great-right on time and the driver was very polite. The entire staff was terrific. They welcomed you as if you were a guest in their own house. The room was small and spartan but it had those great roll down shades that make thee room very cool, and dark. I love those. The air conditioning was a bit too warm for my taste, but not enough to complain. It was a great stay for a layover, and would not be bad for an outside the big city stay if needed. I recommend this hotel as it is convenient, wonderful staff, and a great price.

We chose this hotel because of its proximity to the airport. And, like airport hotels rooms tend to be spartan and small--coll enclosed balcaony overlooking a tree and the street!. But the staff made the difference--we needed a wake-up at 3:00am and a taxi at 4:00am (we were there during the French air traffic controllers ludicrous strike so flights were uncertain). The staff, three different persons, made sure we were awakened on time, the taxi ws there and the luggage was handled. They do have a shuttle service to the airport (taxis from the airport are expensive) but it does not operate at 4:00am. Nevertheless, had we needed it the shuttle was available at reasonable hours. Rooms are small and just adequate.

Room Tip: Don't plan a Week long tay here!

Opted to stay here for a 2 day 1 night Madrid trip, mainly as it had the free shuttle service and location to a metro station. The shuttle was faultless arrived 5 mins after ringing and the same for the return, simply left when we wanted it to. The surrounding area was good, bars, restaurants and shops. The Metro was 10min walk away along the main street. Very easy to travel into Madrid. We bought a 10 trip tourist traveler ticket (12.20 euros) but really didn't need that many trips as once we were in Madrid we walked everywhere, so like us you walk between sites etc then it would be better to but a single ticket (2.00 euros). The room was small but clean and comfortable (no tea/coffee making facilities). Aircon work very well. The breakfast was a small in choice but adequate. Free computers in the reception to use which was handy. Free wifi in rooms. Very friendly staff. Very good value for money. After staying here I wouldn't really ever feel the need to stay in Madrid City. I have given this hotel 5 stars, not because it is a five star in the true meaning of a 5 star hotel, but for location, service and outstanding value for money.

Very convenient for a stay if late arrival to/from Airport. The metro station is 5 minute walk and certainly convenient if going Madrid sightseeing. Barajas felt like a small town and I felt very safe walking around (solo female). There are excellent supermarkets nearby and even a Burger King three doors down if missing some "home cooking"! :) The hotel staff was very helpful with directions and answered every question. Breakfast was included and it was fantastic; plenty, variety, and fresh. Free wi-fi; they also had two computers at the lobby for free access. Excellent place to stay.
