“One night, missed flight”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2014

Was traveling through Madrid going back to the states, missed the flight due to weather and Iberia gave us vouchers to stay and eat here. Was comparable to an upscale affordable US hotel, such as Omni. The electrical outlets had international sockets so as long as your appliance can take 220 volts it looked like just about any plug would fit. The rooms were showing a little wear but not at all bad. The climate control display was broken in one room but it still worked fine. We ate dinner and breakfast there, both were buffet, I believe there was a menu you could order off of but not covered by our vouchers. I will say that the buffet both for dinner and breakfast was quite good with a nice variety of both hot and cold dishes. Wine and bottled water were included with dinner and for breakfast there was a cappuccino/espresso machine and fresh squeezed orange juice. I didn't look up the price of the rooms but without knowing that I would stay there again without hesitation. The wi-fi worked ok, was not particularly fast. There is a free shuttle to and from the airport 24hrs a day leaving the hotel on the hour and the half hour, and leaving the airport on the quarter and three quarter hour.

This is one of the hotels that are mostly used by travelers staying overnight before taking another flight from Barajas. Said that, it's difficult to write an opinion since you don't really stay but just sleep; in this case I would recommend this hotel before the others I have stayed in because some details like the 24h transfer van, the huge rooms with amazing bathrooms (at least mine) and the free morning coffee while you wait to be transferred.

For an overnight stay before flying on next morning, this hotel is excellent. There is a free shuttle service to the airport every 15 minutes. Breakfast quality is very good too. Rooms are big and comfortable.

This is a classic Spanish hotel with several amenities included. If you are going from to Barajas and don’t have time to go to the city center this hotel is just perfect. It is conveniently located and offers free shuttle service from-to the airport. Rooms are very spacious and clean. The free Wi-Fi Internet does not work that well, but otherwise I have no complains.

This hotel is actually not too bad at all. It may not look stunning from the outside, but inside it's quite spacious and classy, including the rooms. Quite good for an airport hotel and the price. However, to my horror I found that the left side of the bed was not cleaned at all: the carpet was full of toenail clippings which I think is utterly, utterly disgusting. No vacuum cleaner had been near there, clearly. As it was late and I was tired I decided to let it go and simply slept - and walked - on the other side of the (huge) bed. I advised the staff when checking out the next day and they were correct about it and gave me a form to file a complaint. It's just such a letdown, a bit unforgivable. The room itself was almost impossible to cool, other than by opening the windows. The breakfast is absolutely great by the way, although it would be nice if at least somebody of the serving staff would acknowledge your presence there. But hey, maybe that's just me.

This hotel was excellent value for me at 95 Euros the night, with a 10 euros food voucher thrown in. The room was very spacious the bed enormous and very comfortable. Quite old style Spanish classic heavy decor but it was still fresh and not too overbearing. The bathroom was also very big, set apart from the main area off the hall. It had a bath and a separate shower, plenty of huge bathtowels and all the usual toiletries.

Good selection of TV channels, mostly in Spanish, mini bar, desk to work and free , fast, Wi-fi.

The hotel is right in the centre of Barajas village so you can also wander out and get a drink or food easily.

There is a bus service to the airport, it takes 5 minutes to get there and will drop you at any terminal. If you are flying from terminal one or two then it is easy enough to walk if you don't have much luggage, there is a pedestrian bridge which takes you over the main road and into terminal 2

I attended a travel industry trade show (FITUR) and stayed at the Melia Barajas.which is ust a few minutes from the fair grounds. This a four star property with very friendly staff and very accommodating. They gave me a King Size Bed and they have a wonderful complete breakfast *
(for a reasonable charge). There was no problem with a late check out. Barajas, which is also the name of the Madrid Airport s a small town on the outskirts of Madrid. The hotel was clean. They have a lobby bar which is very well stocked. If my plans call for a return to Barajas, I will definitely come back to this hotel.
