“great location, fantastic service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

We chose to stay on The Levels in this lovely hotel, which was well worth the upgrade for the personal service and the use of the Levels lounge and bar - a welcome haven after a busy day's sightseeing. Two coeliacs in our party were more than adequately catered for in the breakfast buffet and nothing was too much trouble. The Levels rooms were very spacious, quiet and had great views over the city from what turned out to be a really good location. Good recommendations from the concierge for places to visit and to eat in our short stay. would certainly stay again. When we said it was our daughter's birthday on our final morning, she was surprised with a little cake bearing a candle - and as Cava is available at the buffet we could celebrate in style!

Room Tip: upgrade to the Levels!

The staff was vey friendly and attentive to our needs. Your breakfast service was very good and provided a great range of choices for all our family. The room was exactly what was advertised on the package and very clean and comfortable. I appreciated the family friendly atmosphere in the lobby and restaurant areas since I have a 9 year old son. I also chose your hotel because of its location, which allowed me to walk, or use the metro to visit all places of interest in Madrid without having to rent a car or use taxis.

I loved the hotel and the employees were wonderful. Very helpful with everything!!! My plane arrived early and I was able to check in and go to my room at 10:00 a.m. an experience I had never had in Europe before. I was so happy to be able to "settle in" before exploring the city. I didn't like the fact that I had to pay for internet services, to print boarding passes or check email. I have never had to do this in Europe or the U.S. The hotel is walking distance to several attractions and the subway is only 1/2 a block away. The breakfast was a excellent!!!!

Stayed here with my family of 4 (Me, Jake (Husband), Charlie and Daisy.. Very nice hotel and very modern! All 4 of us had a really great time staying here and food was gorgeous!! Nice reception staff and maids! One of my maids was so kind and bought us up a free baby cot for daisy (you usually have to pay and book)! I left them a little tip at the end. Overall, this hotel has been mine and my family's favourite hotel in Madrid!!
Will be returning here in the future:)

Room Tip: All rooms are fab but middle floor is best for families!!

The location of this property is just off the Grand Via, close to the Plaza España, and within walking distance to the Palacio Real. If you're willing, and like to walk a bit, this is a good value for the Museum and old town areas. We stayed here 3 nights in March.

The room was modern and clean. The room we had on the 'Level' had a king bed and doors between the bedroom area and the entrance to the public hallway that helped keep hallway noise down. The 'Level' upgrade of €60 was well worth it. There is a private lounge just off the main lobby where there is light breakfast (rolls, cereal, small egg dishes) and a well-stocked self-serve bar and coffee maker. It was nice to be able to have some refreshment on the way up to the room. At other Melia's, the upgrade lounge is often on the same floor which would be a bit more handy. We did not eat in the breakfast room or restaurant. As with many Spanish hotels, there are numerous light switches that take some time to learn. A unique feature is a lighted closet rod. Unfortunately the motion sensor didn't work well and the light blinked on and off whenever we moved around in the room.

The staff here are exceptional. Everyone was friendly and gracious. The Concierge for the Level was particularly helpful; she was persistent if her attempts to secure us the Level upgrade at another Melia (we moved to the Melia Castilla later in our week-see that review as well).

I would definitely stay here again if I was visiting the main museum area, like to be near a park, and want to save a few € by walking a little ways.

Room Tip: 'Level' rooms on the top floor have lovely views of Park del Oeste and the city.

Dear ProfandPr...,

First of all we would like to thank you for this very detailed review you have shared with us.

We regret to hear that you had some trouble with the motion sensor. Had we known it, we would have sent someone to fix it.

On the other hand, we are very glad to see that you enjoyed our location, the rooms and its decoration were of your choice and that you were able to experience "The Level" service, the hotel's most exclusive atribute. Furthermore, it is a pleasure to see that our staff was so friendly and helpful, because we always try to make the most of our client's stay.

We are very happy to hear that you would choose us again and we would love to see you in your next visit to Madrid.

Best regards,

Melia Princesa is in a great location - with short walking distance to Gran Via and the theatres/shopping but still across the street the restaurants had a neighborhood feel. The service was outstanding with great personal attention especially in the Level.

It's not in the shopping area, nevetheless close to a lot of tourist spots. Within walking distance, it's easy to get to: Plaza de Espana (5mins); Gran Via (<10mins); Perta de Sol (~10mins); Plaza de Mayor (~15mins); Palacio Real (~15mins); Mercado San Miguel (15mins). Of course, it might take a little longer if you are being distracted by the various shops/ spots along the way. A few quite high TA ranking restuarant were close by. A department store is just within 5mins walk.

Staffs - friendly and helpful.

Rooms - good size with Europe standard (it's not fair to compare it with the resorts in SE Asia), clean, tidy and cozy enough.

Breakfast - excellente! Plenty of choice in the buffet style, even with paella for breakfast.

But, its gym - small and under-equipped.

Did not have the time to check out its pool in this visit.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the back street are quiet, while those facing the mainstreet could have view of the Roy...
