Don't be put off by the very 70s concrete outside. Inside this hotel is beautifully finished. Only stayed one night and only saw a small part of the facilities. Location is central convenient for business and tourist visitors. Room very well appointed good air on and wifi. Views from best floors and right side stunning. Only let down - breakfast felt more school canteen than 4/5 star hotel and lacked any charm whatsoever. That said worth looking at as the other facilities are great.

I have had over 100 nights in this hotel during this year and have always been very happy with the service received.

The hotel is close to the city centre, probably about 15 to 20 mins walk or a short trip on the metro, the nearest station being maybe 150 metres away. There are numerous restaurants, good shops and attractions all within easy walking distance. Madrid tour buses stop close by and tickets are sold at reception.

The rooms are of a high standard and consistent from floor to floor. Bathrooms all have bath and good shower. All rooms have a good desk which is useful when on business trips. I have always found the hotel quiet and slept well. Complimentary wifi is available in all rooms and I have found the signal strength to be good.

I am a Platinum member and therefore able to access The Level lounge, this offers privilege check in and check out, complimentary breakfast in the private lounge and snacks and drinks including alcohol.

Breakfast is available on the 1st floor and offers a wide range of hot and cold food from the buffet, there is an egg station offering omelettes etc. The staff are excellent in the restaurant, nothing seems too much trouble.

The hotel has a gym, I haven't used it but colleagues have and don't seem to have any issues, I believe it is small but it must do the job.

I think the strength of this hotel are the staff, it's a large hotel but the staff try hard to provide a very personal service. This extends throughout the hotel, from the lady that looks after housekeeping, the reception, the restaurant and The Level bar. The people are great and I feel at home at the Melia.

I stay there every week for three nights each week, the staff have tried to make my travel so easy, I am able to leave items at the hotel to be used next week which is a real help.

I would like to thank Clara, she works hard to make sure all hotel guests have a great stay and has really tried hard to make the Melia feel home from home for me.

Room Tip: Top floor with a city view

The Melia Madrid Princesa is centrally and conveniently located, close to the center of town, all attractions, shopping, public transport. The renovation of the rooms is good and you get a clean and very spacious room. Therefore, this is a good value for your money. The building itself is tucked away from the main street in an ugly, rather run-down business complex. Don't expect anything beautiful when you step out the front door of the hotel as you find yourself in a dark narrow unattractive alley. The exterior of the building could use a facelift. Otherwise, the stay was comfortable, the staff nice & helpful. The hotel bar is one of those depressing corners tucked away at sublevel from the otherwise pretty lobby. One thing I encounter at every Melia: either some of those thousand confusing switches in the room or the entertainment system or the remote control don't work. This time it was the entertainment system and the remote. Overall, I would come back to this hotel as I like the spacious rooms at Melia hotels and the central location.

I have stayed in this hotel next to the metro station several times. The people are friendly and supportive, the rooms are great. Everything you need is available and at the right place. Bed is very comfortable and rooms a good isolated.

I have been there for 3 nights is a "Level-Room". This service offers a separate Lounge with private check-in at the Ground Floor. The lounge offers a wide variety of food and beverages, including Nespresso coffee maker, different wines, beers, sparkling wine, and a lot of spirits and soft drinks. So, you will be able to mix your own cocktails during the day. In the morning, Level guests are able to have breakfast in the lounge, or in the main restaurant in the first floor, which offers all american breakfast.

The room was quite nice, with a very good view over the city. We had some fruits , a bottle of water and a private letter from the GM as welcome amenities. The bath was cool, with rain forest shower, and all the amenities you need when you stay in a 5-star hotel like this...

Public transport is located near the hotel (Metro Ventura Rodriguez), bus stations. Taxi service from Madrid Airport to the hotel EUR 30,00 fixed price. For tourists I recommend the Tourist ticket which costs EUR 18,40 for 3 days. You can use all forms of public transport.

Also a special thanks to Tamara and Silvia from the Level-Lounge and Irene from UNO! I have enjoyed an outstanding service by them.

I only can recommend this hotel to business guests, also for couples who want to enjoy luxury service in private areas.

Room Tip: I had room 1224 with great view over the city... Take the same... Is was very quiet...

Took underground from airport to the hotel. Quite easy (had to change once, took me around 45 minutes including the last bit of walking). Check in smooth - nice lobby area. Room was a little overdesigned to my taste. Flexible walls and doors separate bedroom from bathroom and hallway from cupboard (with enough hangers) and bathroom, and toilet from sinks. Lots of light switches, strange automatic light in the cupboard. Beware to close the bathroom side at night - or you will wake up in bright led light when going to the toilet. The reading light comes out of the wall. Mine went on again in the middle of the night - could not entirely push it back (happened twice, at last I put a piece of paper in it in order to keep it there). Had a room on the street side - still noisy. Breakfast buffet is extensive and fresh. Staff are all very friendly and helpful. Taxi to the airport takes 30 minutes and costs a fixed € 30.

The Melia Princesa is a lovely hotel, in a fantastic location, close to shopping and metro. Breakfast was really good with a fine selection. Staff were very friendly and helpful, hotel is clean and tidy and rooms very spacious. We were on the Level, which has free tapas and drinks. would definitely return here.
