I'll start with the positive - the only highlight was the pool. Great pool with ice cold water to cool off. The rest of the stay was horrible!
Rooms were ok to small in size and the bed was the smallest twin I've ever seen, not even sure it was a mattress under there. The air-conditioning was loud and had trouble working. The staff was rude and not very knowledgeable of anything. Couldn't get them to recommend a restaurant other than their own - I speak Spanish.
The night manager said my room was the smallest in the hotel and was very surprised I was given it at my rate. She had no rooms available that night but made a notation to have me move first thing in the morning. The morning staff refused to - citing they know nothing about moving me. When I approached the night manager when she came back on duty - again she made a big sign and a notation in her book for the morning staff - again the morning staff wouldn't do anything.
Beware of the shuttle to the airport - the staff told me it was 19 Euros', put it in writing and made the reservation - when the shuttle dropped me off they said 36 Euros. It took 1/2 hour to convince them.
Now most IMPORTANT - beware of the neighborhood. Although it is in the heart of it all, walking distance to the Sol and Mayor, crime is everywhere. I was robbed in the first hour I was there. I have been going to Europe for over 25 years including backing around Africa, its bad. When the hotel has an armed guard at the door, it should tell you something. Would recommend staying over in the neighborhood of the Westin or Prado - much safer. Pickpockets are VERY good in Heurta and Sol.
