“Worthy of a stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We stayed here as part of a tour, It was the nicest of the three hotels we stayed at. It was clean, fairly modern or at least recently renovated and had a great bathroom with nice big towels. Location was great, around the corner they have this great park that is worth going for a stroll. They supplied two bottles of water FOC in the fridge and have a safe however you have to pay in order to use it. It is only 7 Euros to go into Madrid, but it also has a bus that stops right outside the hotel. Air conditioner worked however WiFi was temperamental, sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't! Staff weren't the most helpful but if you persevered you could extract info from them. The dining room was quite nice, clean, tidy and well set out unfortunately that's were the positives end. The food was just horrible, appearance was good but it was almost uneatable. It was as if it was fake, definitely unseasoned and even if you seasoned it wasn't much better. This was the case for both dinner and breakfast. Our conclusion is stay here but dine elsewhere.

Location is really nice, Airport is reachable within 30-40 mins by train, city centre is within 15 minutes. Rooms are good, bathtub is in the bathroom, cleaning service is also nice. BUT really really loud. We had the feelings that the walls are made out of paper - you can hear everything through the whole floor. However, I guess it's problem of many spanish hotels. On receprion not everybody speaks English, which shocked a bit (took a while till somebody with english skills came to us).
I have to admit, location is really good - also not so far from the bus station from which you can take buses to different towns around Madrid (eg Toledo), but the loudness really gave us some lack of sleep. Supermarket and different small restaurant and cafe are reachable within 5-10 minutes.

Rooms were of a reasonable size and they had very clean facilities. The buffet breakfast and evening meal had quite good selections available. Bus #23 Plaza Mayor stops outside the hotel door and takes you close to Plaza Mayor. From here walk down the hill and ask directions at the small plaza with the large granite cross. You take Bus #23 El Espinillo to return to the hotel.

Ideally situated near the river where one can walk to for a drink at one of the many bars. The hotel room was very comfortable, good selection at breakfast time although diner food was not all that great. The lifts where small and slow. Plenty of bars an restaurant s along the street and there is even a Lidl's across the street for water. Excellent choice of hotel.

We stayed at this hotel with a tour group. We had a balcony room that faced the street, so a bit loud at night ~ but our room had a fridge and complimentary water, and the safe was free ~ you just had to leave a 15 euro deposit. The hotel boasts a lovely well stocked buffet breakfast. For seeing the sites, Bus #23 stops right outside the door takes you to Plaza Mayor for 1.50 euros. We also took bus 55 to the Atocha Train station, where we took a high speed train to Toledo for the day. We missed the airport express bus, so took a cab which cost 30 Euros. Our return taxi (stand right in front of hotel) was 32 Euros. A lovely park is behind the hotel and if you are energetic the walk back from downtown wasn't bad at all. We found the front desk people very accommodating ~ and even changed our room for us when we requested to be put in a balcony room.

Stayed here with a tour group...first the positives: this hotel accommodates mainly tour groups..so is pretty big with lots of rooms! Nice big lobby area to accommodate the large groups. Friendly front - desk staff. Good breakfast spread. Now the negatives: Rooms are too small, even for Europe standards, corridors are pretty noisy because of the groups, and the lifts make too much noise! Make sure to get a room very far away from the lift. Also, a lot of noise from the streets..car and truck horns that kept me awake for quite a bit. Sound-proofing of rooms is required desperately. The one and only computer at the business centre was attached t a printer that did not work! The front desk staff however were helpful in helping me print out some urgent documents.

Room Tip: Get a room far away from the lifts, unless you want a sleepless night!

Good location for athletic Madrid great location next to fantastic parks and open spaces!!! Very much a local area away from the City center but that made it for us! Local bars were friendly although little/no English is spoken and we always had free tapas with our drinks! The metro is at the end of the road although a 2 minute walk are loverly parks next to the river!! We used the hotel as a base too visit the bernabeau and go watch athletico Madrid and could recommend enough!! Rooms are clean and tidy
