“Nice Location / Easy Access to Public Transport”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago

Great location, although it's not near the city centre. Bus stop is just outside the hotel and brings you all the way to the city centre (5-minute walk to Plaza Mayor is the last bus stop so you won't get lost). It's not a fancy hotel but good enough to have a good sleep and be ready for the next day's exploration of Madrid. Behind the hotel is a very nice park you can take a walk. A lot of locals go to the park to exercise, walk, stroll, etc. You should see this park as well.

Breakfast buffet is good, not much you can expect, but great enough to fill your stomach with enough choices.

I never had any issues with the hotel. Front desk clerks are accommodating, just try to maybe explain a bit slower if they can't understand your English clearly at first. They're very nice.

There are also small restaurants in the area you can just walk if you feel like eating here instead of downtown. Dominos pizza is across the street as well.

There's also a grocery store across the street, so you can buy any snacks / water / alcohol there at a very very cheap price.

I would stay in this hotel if I visit Madrid next time.

Stayed as part of a tour. Many rooms faced a small courtyard, rooms were very dark. Rooms were comfortable, wi-fi was free and good. Elevators were usually very crowded and slow. Breakfast was good with decent variety. Bus stop directly outside hotel with many restaurants and shops along street.

Room Tip: Rooms facing courtyard are dark but quiet.

Stayed overnight 13/11/2014.
Large family room 4 singles.
Spotless, plenty of room, lovely large bathroom with toiletries. Large selection of everything for breakfast, only complaint, maybe a microwave could be put in the breakfast salon, as food was only lookwarm, overall a good valued hotel, which we would use again.

Checked in by 'Jorge' on Saturday 15th November. He did not say please, thank you or welcome at all during the check in process. In fact all I received were a couple of grunts and a key card slid across the counter. A prime candidate for a customer service course if ever there was one.

Stayed on the fifth floor - the hotel is in dire need of refurbishment. The corridors have thread bare carpets and are generally drab and dreary. The room itself was actually okay - it was clean at least. The window had been left open so was very cold. The windows block out none of the sound from the road and street, which on a Saturday night were loud until the early hours. On top of this the walls were paper thin. The family staying in the next room were very noisy and had a child that insisted on shouting, crying or singing - sometimes all at once. That was enjoyable at 7am.

Dinner was horrid. Chicken soup had been microwaved and so had a layer of skin around the outside of the bowl. Chicken Caesar salad was smothered in sauce, had chicken pieces that were breaded and actually smaller than the croutons. The bottled water was nice though. Waste of €20 when there seem to be a few restaurants around.

Wifi was non existent in my room. The signal just doesn't seem to reach far beyond reception. When I asked why (several times), the reception staff just seemed to think I didn't know the password and didn't grasp the concept the signal was not there to actually connect to be asked for a password. In the end I had to come down and work in the cold reception with a lovely assortment of screaming children. The hotel seems to be used by a number of family tour operators.

Just labour to leave this hotel. Am of course in the lobby to connect to wifi. I won't be coming back and I hope others choose a nicer place to stay, even if needing to spend a few pounds more.

We stayed here as part of a tour package. Although the hotel is very used to handling big groups and are very efficient, the hotel needs alot of work. Fixtures and wallpaper were falling apart. The elevator is small and sometimes goes up a few inches or goes down a few inches from your floor so mind your step. The bathroom is pretty small and you can see molds on the corners and between the tiles. There were even some old hair in the sink probably from the previous guest. Since the hotel usually handle big groups, the lobby and the breakfast buffet can be very crowded. A plus about the hotel is that the bus line 23 stops right in front of the hotel which takes you straight to plaza mayor and taking the same bus will take you back stopping also across the hotel. The staff though are friendly and helpful.

This hotel caters to a lot of tour groups. So it can be very busy at check in, or check out. Also the buffet breakfast has a lot of people all trying to eat at once. My suggestions is if you can go after the early morning rush. It is open until 10:30 am. The rooms are nothing special. However they do have Kleenex, and along with free wi-fi you will find two complimentary bottles of water in the refrigerator.

Room Tip: Get a room on a high floor not facing the street. No noise at all.

It was busy with many tour groups. I could not sleep because of people talking at the hallway and rain fall outside. For the kind of hotel, the elevator is too small to fit more than two suite cases, thus, it took long time just for waiting. At the breakfast buffet, there were so many people lined up. I was able to have time for only two cups of coffee, no food. If your priority is the budget, go for it.
