Stayed here for three days as a part of a Cosmos tour. Pros: great service! The front desk lady allowed me to check in early, which was very kind of her to do. The rooms are clean. Most of hotel employees don't speak much English but do the best to assist. The hotel is located about six blocks away from the Metro, so the commute to the city center wasn't bad at all. Also, if you stay here, do take a walk along the river... Very bike-friendly place. Cons: no gym, no ironing board in the room, no fridge, no coffee machine, and the hairdryer is mildly prehistoric. Didn't bother me much, but it is something to keep in mind.

The photos of this hotel were decieving. I had an inside room with a full bed pushed against the wall and a view of the rooms around the corner of the hall. The only option of the room is to use the blackout drapes so the room was always dark. The rooms are dated. The bathroom was ok. The food was ok. The Lobby looks like it has been updated. The elevators were scary - not leveling themselves, stalling, and very small. The location is ok.

Room Tip: Get a room on the outside. Some rooms had balconies.

Stayed here for 3 nights as part of a Cosmos tour.

Not really near to the centre of everything, but the bus stop right outside the hotel (no 23) will take you directly to Playor Major for around 1.5 Euros.

Rooms are fairly basic but clean enough. If you get depressed easily, you'd do well to leave the curtains closed, as the views from the windows' aren't exactly inspiring! The food isn't anything to get excited about, particularly the cooked, luke warm breakfasts that are swimming in grease. There are cheap bars and eateries nearby and an added bonus is a Lidl supermarket right across the road.

But all things considered, it's not bad.

I stayed three nights at Madrid Praga Hotel. Quite good! A little bit far from the historic centre of the city, but by bus or taxi you can travel in a few minutes. It seems to be a very successfull hotel, because there were always many tourists at the central lobby checking in or out or sitting at the livings rooms. The bedrooms are really fine and cozy! I suggestion, go to the restaurant, right next to the lobby, and have a dinner at night, I did it, its very nice and quite. Very good Hotel!

I went to this hotel in April 2014 for a week with my bf on a city break.

Pro's:
Lovely and modern
Good sized rooms
Nice location
Picturesque
Easy to access from airport (Check metro route, its simple)
Bedding changed daily
Toothpaste, shampoo, razor etc all in room on arrival

Cons:
Maids weren't the friendliest, but in their defence it was clear that none of them spoke a word of English and to be honest its not there job too.. but a smile wouldn't have gone a miss every now and then! That would be my only 'complaint' as it were.
On the plus side of that, the bedding towels and toiletries were changed daily as they should be. Could not fault them on the job in hand.

Tips:
If you want to go to the city centre and do not like walking then this probably isn't the hotel for you.
However, there is a bus stop on the hotels doorstep that will take you straight into town for a couple of euro. Atletica Madrid stadium is no more than a 5 minute walk from the hotel, as is the nearest metro station. There are plenty of options even if you do not like walking!

If you don't mind the 20ish minutes walk into the centre then I suggest turning right and then sharp right as you walk out of the hotel, leads you onto a beautiful stretch of green and lake, really is a beautiful walk if you don't mind doing it, takes a bit longer than the motorway route or the general roads route but is a lot more picturesque.

There is a dominoes pizza and a lidl as soon as you walk out of the hotel, the road the hotel is on is home to some very friendly bars and cafes which are lively during the day and the evening.

All in all I couldn't really fault this hotel at all, the staff didn't bother us, we didn't bother them. The facilities were good. The location was good as amenities were close by if you didn't need to go to town. The walk to the centre in the heat was a bit draining but I still managed it every day without fail purely cause its worth it!

Would recommend and personally would go back if I went to Madrid again :)

I have been in Madrid for Mutua Madrid Open Tennis and Hotel Praga was a very nice place to stay during the championship. They have thinning you can imagine in a hotel, even toothbrush and razer. The breakfast was nice and the staff was also very friendly.

Room Tip: Rooms on the adjacent street from the left are fine. 7 floor was very nice.
