Excellent location only a few hundred yards from Atocha Renfe Metro or Atocha main railway station. All staff were most helpful, except very miserable female receptionist. If you are looking for luxury and comfort, this is not the hotel for you but for cleanliness and location for City sightseeing, it couldn't have been better A leisurely stroll from the hotel through Parque del Retiro brings you to Calla De Alcala, one of the main avenues from which you can explore most of the city.

The lack of free wifi was its biggest disappointment - everything else was at 3 - 4* standard. Comfortable clean beds a fully equipped bathroom and good room service. I was on the 7th floor so had no traffic noise. Very convenient for the train and subway stations and a pleasant walk to many of the top attractions including Retiro Park. Not sure it would be worth it if paying full price but at last minute prices good value.

We stayed as part of a Globus tour and were pleased with the clean, quiet, large room with comfortable beds and efficient air conditioning along with a well appointed bathroom with marble counters. A twenty minute walk to the Prado and other museums, and a close metro station for the Plaza Mayor in a decent neighborhood with a market on the next corner make it a good choice. The breakast buffet contained a great selection of eggs, meats and cheeses but four tours at one time caused a backup the second morning we were there.

The hotel was clean and close to the station as we had no other transport, did not have free wifi, traffic noise was not a problem, beds where comfortable, happy to stay there again.
