“Perfect location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2013

A perfect location for your visit to Madrid. Everything is within walkindistance. We had a superior double room and it was just like the pictures! A corner room with 2 balconys. Yes there is some noise from Gran Via but when you close the doors to the balcony it is ok. When you want to stay in the middle you must accept some noise. Staff is very helpfull and breakfast is great - it was included in our room rate.

Dear ConpenhagenGlobe.

Thank you for telling us about your recent stay at the Hotel Atlantico.

I'm delighted that you enjoyed our location directly in Gran Via street, only to a few minutes from the main sights of the city and the room just like the pictures included in the website. I am most pleased of all though that you enjoyed our service which is what we work hardest at.

I hope we get to see you again in the near future. Thank you again.

Best regards.

This hotel’s best asset is its staff. People working at the front desk and in the upstairs lounge are very polite and nice and willing to help with anything- from changing the room, if you do not like it, to choosing a restaurant, a concert, or a play for the evening.
I've chosen this hotel because of its high rank on the TripAdvisor web site. However, my expectations were not met. My main complaint is the noise. Rooms are poorly soundproofed. You can hear people talking, coughing, sneezing in the neighboring rooms. In addition to this, every time when someone leaves the room or comes back the door’s lock makes a loud noise, therefore, you hear people coming and going all the time. I think that 4 stars hotel should have much better locks and rooms should be much better soundproofed. Another thing, which was a little bit strange, is that all light switches had a little red light embedded in them, so all night you had little red lights all over the room. Maybe it is just me, but I like my room to be dark at night and these lights were disturbing my sleep. Otherwise, hotel is very well located, walking distance from all main attractions. Rooms are very clean and cute, bathrooms are also clean and well-appointed.

We highly recommend Hotel Atlantico. The location can't be beat, it's right in the middle of all the action, and we were able to walk to all major sights and hotspots. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean, modern and artfully designed with excellent decor. The optional breakfast was very good. The 9th floor lounge/bar/cafe was elegant with outstanding views. And the price is very reasonable. We will be back.

This is a great hotel if you want to be within easy walking distance of most of the major attractions; the Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol are around five minutes' walk and the Royal Palace is visible from the rooftop terrace! It is also opposite the Callao Metro station and within a few minutes' walk of the Gran Via station for journeying further afield.
We found the room excellent, with a very comfortable bed, well-stocked (and not overpriced) minibar and ample space for hanging clothes. It was also spotlessly clean. The bathroom had a good range of complimentary products (sewing kit, shower gel etc) and the shower was reasonably powerful. Air conditioning was also a plus, especially as the room was on the warm side.
The rooftop bar had some great views over the city towards the Sierras on the horizon and the drinks weren't expensive- the bar staff were very friendly and welcoming, as were all the staff we encountered during our stay.
We didn't go for the buffet breakfast, priced at ten Euros each; Hot chocolate and churros, available all around the city, seemed a better option and were less than half the price!

Room Tip: We had Room 308 and had a half-view of the Gran Via- Rooms 01 to 06 of each floor would probably hav...

We have just returned from our first trip to Madrid. We picked this hotel after seeing the reviews on Tripadvisor. We were not disappointed. Our room was a normal double on the 5th floor and was a good size with everything that you need. It was kept spotlessly clean. There was a bit of noise from the Gran Via but we had electric metal blinds that we could use which kept the noise down to a slight murmer. The breakfast buffet was excellent and after requesting a pot of tea on the first day, we didnt need to ask again, it was there just after we had sat down. Such good service. The hotel is in an excellent position for most of the main tourist sights and is within walking distance of many. The roof terrace on the 9th floor is a good place to unwind after a day spent sightseeing. A cup of coffee is free. I would have prefered tea and coffee making facilities in the room, but this is just a small point. We found all of the staff to be heplful and friendly and would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone without hestitation.

Two stays for a total of 8 nights in the past month, following up on two visits in 2011. Stayed in "superior rooms" in all cases. This hotel remains a superb value with excellent service, clean rooms, very nice bathrooms, a good breakfast. Location could not be better. On the most recent visit discovered that not all "superior rooms" are the same. The first three visits provided a rather large view room (e.g., looking out on the Grand Via) with tasteful, traditional decorations. Most recent visit (room 617) was a quite large, but relatively sterile room in the back of the hotel (ok, it's quiet, but has absolutely no view) with little of the charm and grace of the other superior rooms. However, the overall impression remains very good.
