I would have to admit that this wasn't our first choice to stay but came across this hotel due to a mishap with another hotel.

* Nicely decorted apartments
* Excellent choice if you're travelling in a group
* Good neighbourhood
* Lots of bars and restaurants around the corner
* Very close to Bilbao metro
* Value for money
* Comfortable option if you plan on staying for more than 2 days

The rooms are a little small to accomodate a lot of luggage, but the apartment in general is big enough.

We booked this aparment as we didn't want to stay at the hotel we had originally booked. To avoid wasting any time, we booked the first hotel that could accomodate a group of 5 people and were very pleasantly surprised by the result.

These apartments are very close to Bilbao Metro and within walking distance of all the main tourist attractions including the nightlife of Chueca. The beds were comfortable and the black out blinds were welcomed. The apartments were clean and my group of friends were very happy with these apartments. Safe area, no noise and two brilliant tapas bars very close by. We arrived in Madrid at midnight and the manager was already there and waiting when we arrived - no issue at all as they ask for your flight arrival details etc upon booking with them.

The apartments dont have a view but we never spent much time inside anyway. You will also have to pay cash upfront unless you choose to pay via your credit card at an earlier. No major - if you read the small print it says it in there.

There is a mini mart not far away.

Would stay here again - no complaints.

First off, they demanded cash upfront for 6 days of the "luxurious" accommodations near Bilbao Metro. The amenities consisted of the following:

1) A top-floor flat without a view, except for a few skylights.
2) IKEA furnishings. Seriously. The wall hangings were IKEA. The beds were IKEA. The linen was IKEA. Everything was IKEA. Not comfortable at all.
3) a downstairs buzzer that didn't work. Was a major inconvenience for some of our travel mates.
4) a wi-fi connection that barely worked. Was very slow when it did but cut off frequently.
5) Water pressure that came on and off randomly during showers.
6) was not stocked with toilet paper or cleaning supplies. Led to some panicked trips to the OpenCor.

Very disappointing, considering the rate. We could've stayed at a nice hotel with room service for what we paid, and would've had some form of maid service. Avoid, avoid, avoid...

We were a little surprised at the street level of the Palafox building because of some graffiti around but it seems that Madrid is covered with it!! The apartment, however, seemed new, very clean and stocked with all the basics (incl: towels, soaps, dishwashing stuff etc). The location proved to be great once we learnt the area and had a couple of walks into Sol.
We were worried about arriving and meeting on time as per some bad review comments but we called the agent and Rafael was there waiting for us upstairs in the apartment (be aware: there is no office). We had to be shown where the extra cleaning fee (45eur) was indicated waaayyyyy down the bottom of our confirmation form because this wasn't included in the price. A frustrating surprise.
Overall we were happy, just don't expect to be arriving to a hotel or fully-serviced apartments. They hand over the keys and for better or for worse, you don't see them again (just what we wanted..).
