“Perfect location and great service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2013

We were literally across the street from the places we wanted to see the most so if you want to be able to walk then this is the place. The staff are very well trained, bi-lingual, and eager to help. We were upgraded to an executive king and I thought it would be bigger. It was big by European standards but not palatial. Breakfast was about 40 euro and the wifi is not free. They sent us to some great restaurants and it was great to have access to the concierge.

Room Tip: We were on the inside overlooking the dome and never heard an outdoor sound. I think I would prefer...

We spent three heavenly nights at the Westin Palace in February 2013. The staff was extraordinary from the minute we arrived and provided excellent restaurant recommendations. Our room was pretty standard for a Westin property - very comfortable. The location of the hotel is fantastic for exploring the city. Our final evening there was a protest in the city which brought thousands (and many police) to the plaza in front of the hotel. The hotel was excellent about communicating this information to guests via the in-room televisions and ensuring our safety and comfort in spite of these unexpected events. They handled it professionally and with their guests top of mind.

The Palace is a large, luxury styled hotel in the absolute heart of Madrid. Sumptuous, elegant, with first rate service, better than average, yet not memorable in that way that some hotels will stick in the photobook of your mind years after you stayed there. Worth the price? Probably. Best you can do? Maybe. Concierge staff excellent, rooms excellent, bar terrific. Yet what is missing in that final star is that certain special quality we look for and so rarely find: the feeling that this could replace home. Most memorable moment: listening to opera in the fabulous rotunda bar - beats Johnny Mathis by a mile. You can't beat the location.

Room Tip: Join the Starwoods Preferred Guest program - easy upgrade to a better room.

We have stayed here seven times the last few years, with our most recent stay this February. Staying here is one of our favorite parts of visiting Madrid. It can be expensive but there are packages available, and if you're a Starwood member you can use points. Rooms are well appointed with robes, slippers, super-hot showers. There is also a safe in the room.

The hotel is centrally located in the museum district, and everything is a 5 – 15 minute walk away. The Prado and Thyssen-Bornemisza museums are a 5 minute walk. The Reina Sofia museum is a 15 minute walk, as are Atocha train station, Plaza Major and Puerta del Sol.

The staff is friendly and professional and service is individualized. The buffet breakfast is amazing and has everything you could want. At night, enjoy a "Cafe Palace" in Bar Americano. Stay here if you can!

This is a very beautiful hotel in a perfect location. It is walking distance to the Prado, the Thyssen, the Palace and even the Opera House. There seems like almost 1:1 staff to guest ratio. The breakfast was opulent - and it is a Starwood Platinum amenity, a great savings. We used 20,000 points to book a room and were upgraded to a beautiful suite. There were fireworks for Carnival and we could see them from the window. My husband and I were doing a weekend trip to use up expiring airline vouchers and this was a perfect choice.

This is probably the best hotel in the world, sometimes you can get better rooms in selected hotels, sometimes you can get a different style that probably likes more, sometimes you can get a different location and you like more, sometimes you can be in a different city you like more but the global experince here it´s the best in the world, the high level of services here are the best of the best, the staff is very friendly and they can help you with everything, the rooms and suites are fantastic and Madrid one of my favorites cities

Room Tip: the rooms face to Neptuno and in the high floors

I arrived very sour since Iberia lost my luggage and as soon as I was greeted I felt this positive energy from the Valet gentleman, Really nice guy! Then as I approach to check in everybody was so helpful and understanding, they took care of claiming my luggage and getting it to my room. The room was really nice and had plenty of space. I just cant thank enough everybody at that hotel for making my staff so relaxing!
