“Great place for a celebration”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2012

Not somewhere to head to on the cheap but if you want an excellent meal, this can be recommended. Great service, great food. We are not people for desserts but two spoons and a shared plate was a perfect end to a memorable meal.

“Rotten fish and no apologises...”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2012

We were attracted by the great location and nice appearance.
After an acceptable gaspacho, we were served a well presented but clearly rotten fish (dorade).
Despite our very polite request for an alternative' both the waiter and the maitre treated us with detachment and, above all, offered no apologises.
Stay away from this beatuful place, resist the outer appearance!

“Great foods, nice atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2012

This is a typical Spanish restaurant with very delicious food. The restaurant starts service at 9pm but you can still have tapas in the bar before. Tapas are very delicious. We ate ox tail and hake with clams. Both were very delicious. Prices are a bit expensive but worth it.

“In love with Patatas de Pobre”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2012

Dinner doesnt start until 9pm but that did not stop us from having tapas and the house red wine which was quite tasty. One taste of their tapa called "Patatas de Pobre" which are potatoes with garlic, olive oil, vinegar and parsley...I was in love. We went back twice to have this tapa and I will greatly miss it. Felipe was our waiter and he was exceptional. Since we wanted dessert and didnt know what to choose he brought us a small slice of each pastelito...it was great and so so thoughtful. ALso, while you wait on your food/tapa they always give you a little sample of a tapa they serve and I think that's a nice touch to make you feel at home. The venue is a little small so be prepared to stand and eat/drink which is a norm here in Spain. Also when your ready to leave make sure you ask for your bill since they wont bring it to you until you ask...:) Happy Traveling!

“Unimpressed”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2012 via mobile

Lured by the reviews here and Lonely Planet description, we decided to try this one out. There is a bit of a flare of self-importance about the place while we thought the food, although stylishly prepared, was nothing exceptional. The best thing about the place is the feeling of old Madrid which does border with a need for a facelift but I did like that. Will not drop in next time when in Madrid though.
