“Modern Hotel Across from Classic Art”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013

We ended our family trip to Spain in Madrid and used the Radisson Blu as our base because of its proximity to the Prado and triangle of museums along the Paseo del Prado. The Radisson was quiet, clean and would be excellent for business travelers that want to stay in a more touristy part of town. Staff speak English and do so well...better than at other hotels we stayed at during our trip. Rooms are not particularly large, but they are comfortable - and space comes at a premium in Europe. In a nutshell, the hotel is not particularly romantic, but the location is hard to beat for art lovers...or tourists who want a quick shot to Atocha station to catch the AVE to Toledo, Sevilla and other spots for the day.

“was a great hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2013

a only had a night there but i think i did a lot. don't forget to order a facial or massage, the downstairs pool is a relaxing place to wind down from a long day of travel. the hotel is very nicely located, walk out of the hotel and go left and you will find amazing restaurants and bars. i went to 2 different blues bars in that one night just a few safe blocks from the hotel.

very well run hotel, would highly recommend and would absolutely return.

Room Tip: get out of the hotel and go explore the city

“Good Service and frantic room design”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

The hotel is placed in a cozy corner in the heart of Madrid.
The staff is helpful and service is good for this kind of hotel. In this regard, my expectations were definitely exceeded.
And then there comes the room. I had one with a window to the interior patio, meaning no views but not noise either. Good to rest. The impact I got when I went into the room for the first time was big. It was bright and busy, even though there was no one in there. It was due to the huge picture walls all around. Once you get used to it, it is nice -my advise that you play with the lights a bit.
The bathroom was nice, modern, well equipped and roomy. The only problem was that the shower didn't have a curtain nor a glass wall, and the whole place was like a swimming pool after a shower.
If you want to visit Madrid, this is definitely a good place to stay.

“Pleasurable hotel near Museo del Prado”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

My main goal of weekend trip to Madrid was Museo del Prado. Therefore Radisson is the best choice for its location.
Stylish building of hotel was renovated and opened in 2010, equipment is new, smart and functional.
I chose a business class room for better space and included breakfast. Room was very pleasant, clean and good equipped (f.e. Nespresso). Flat TV on the wall is too generous for size of room (20 sqm). High quality of Radissons beds is famous and Madrid is not an exception.
Breakfasts was light, but very tasty. Coffee were served from Nespresso machine and complete range of capsules.
In basement floor is situated small spa, pool with jets, steam room and relaxing room. Water in pool was cold, but in the period of hot summer it was refreshing.
Staff is very friendly and helpful.
Location is the best for tourist want to visit city centre on foot. Few minutes to every famous attractions in centre, opposite to Prado Museum, close to Atocha railway station (metro and direct bus to airport), few stops by bus to Santiago Bernabeu Stadium (Real Madrid).

“Excellent place to discover Madrid and its museums”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

We stayed in this hotel for a city trip to Madrid (2 nights).
Staff was very helpful and friendly upon checking in (all the more given that it was a last minute reservation) as well as during the rest of our stay. We had a business room, which was very stylishly decorated (blowup photo of Madrid as a wall) and disposed of all amenities (including a nespresso). Breakfast is served in buffet style and offers a decent selection of foods including several breads, danish pastries, cereals, yoghurts, marmelades, fresh fruits and charcuteries. Other items (eggs) were available at a simple request.
Also the location is very good. Especially if you're planning on visiting the museums, you couldn't pick a better location : the Prado is across the road, the Thyssen, the Caixa forum and the Reina Sofia are all just around the corner... The Plaza Mayor and the Opera can be reached by a pedestrian alley starting at the hotel... Metro stations (Atocha or Banca de España) are also at walking distance.
To give one negative critic : the spa and wellness section was a bit on the small side.
