“Excellent price, clean, and pleasant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2013

We had a wonderful time at the Hotel Nuevo Boston last August. The room was extremely clean, the bathroom was very comfortable, recent and large. The waiters were usually very attentive and helpful (I wish to say hello and thank you to them if they sometimes read reviews).
In August, the pool and the garden were a wonderful place to enjoy the very hot summer. A mall is 10 minutes away on foot. There was a shuttle service to the city centre (4 times a day in August: check WHEN the shuttle service is done) which was vital to us because we had no car. The hotel is close to the airport, the city centre is a long way in public transportation. The price is very cheap.

I have visited this hotel a few times. The room has always been really tidy and big. The breakfast is very good. The bed is also good, at least for me. It is not too soft. The hotel is not in city center but near to airport. It is good in business trip. It has always been easy to have a taxi.

Our party of four occupied 2 rooms at the Nuevo Boston for one night after flying into Madrid. The hotel is located just south of Barajas airport. One couple took the hotel's courtesy van from Terminal IV with no problem. The other couple rented a car and drove to the hotel easily. Parking in the underground garage is tricky, however: The ramp down is narrow, the lighting is dim, and there is a gate where access to the interior is triggered by talking into a hard-to-find intercom box. After parking successfully, the rest of our stay was very pleasant. The hotel is a converted office building, so the style is a bit corporate. However, it is nicely decorated and well-maintained. Both double rooms were of good size. The bathrooms were spotless. Above all, the price was right: We had purchased a special deal on-line to stay for less than 50 Euros per night per room.

Room Tip: Try to avoid being assigned a bedroom with windows that look into the interior spaces of the hotel...

This hotel is located on a highway, relatively close to the airport and a large shopping mall. It is advertised as a four star design hotel, and it struggles to live up to its name. Average sized rooms, decent breakfast and professional front desk staff all contribute to a good experience, but I found nothing impressive or worth remembering.

We have stayed 5 nights in this hotel when visiting Madrid and its surroundings.
The room was exactly as shown in the photos: big, bright and modern. Beds are huge and comfortable.

My favourite part was the breakfast buffet. I found that you had a large food choice of good quality. I have appreciated the warm bread, fresh orange juice and the cappuccino (ordered extra at the bar).

Wi-fi working perfectly in the room.

If you are there to visit Madrid, the hotel is a bit far from the center (if you do not have a car). However they do offer free shuttles a few times a day. By the way, a small tip for those getting at the hotel by car: the official address of the hotel is Avenida De Aragon 332. On our GPS this address was taking us in the middle of the highway with no way out. So you might want to try with "Calle de Aragon 332" - for us it worked.

The only annoying part for us: even though we have booked for a room with parking included, we could not find empty places when we arrived at the hotel at night (I guess they were overbooked) so we had to park the car on "improvised" spots and leave the key at the reception so they could move it when a spot became empty.

We stayed 2 nights in this hotel when visiting Madrid. The rooms are huge and very modern. Everything you need is available. Breakfast is superb and worth the money.
There is very close to the airport, free parking lot and a free shuttle to the city center in the week-ends. The only disadvantage is that the shuttle drives only a couple of times to the city center and public transportation is not in the direct neighbourhood.

If you are looking for a decent hotel in Madrid, do not hesitate...

Stayed here for business, hoping to take advantage of the shuttle bus to the IFEMA Convention Centre. Big mistake. We waited 45 minutes to get the free shuttle from the airport, which felt like a long time. When we finally got to the hotel (literally, a 5 minute drive away) the staff seemed stuffy and didn't speak much English. I feel bad for not knowing enough Spanish, but hey ho!
My room unfortunately looked out over the restaurant so I did hear clanging of plates etc. Luckily there is an interior door which muffled the sound a bit. The room was large and quite nice. The bathroom was clean, spacious and had nice toiletries. However, the WIFI was terrible. The signal was poor and the throughput was non-existent. Do not expect to be able to Skype / FaceTime or video call.
Breakfast was a weak affair. It starts at 7 am which is fine except the pick up for the Convention Centre is at 7:30. More on this later :-) Back to breakfast, it was not great. Eggs, errr, thats about it. A few sweet things, nothing to set you up for the day. I left disappointed every day.
Back to the shuttle bus. Even though the Conference at the convention centre started at 9:30 am every day they insisted that they leave at 7:30 am - a few of us protested that the bus was too early but the staff were not interested. Luckily at the conference we could get drinks and food before it started so it made up for the poor breakfast. The pickup from the conference was even worse. It was often late and when we phoned asking where the bus was, we were told we had missed it so they would come back?! They did luckily, but not a great experience.
Location wise, the hotel is no-where near Madrid. It is close (10 min walk) to a Shopping complex which was handy for eating out in the evening, buying water etc. There are a few good restaurants to chose from, except the American place :-)
All in all, I appreciate the free shuttle bus, they just need to brush up on punctation and listen to the customer. The room was very nice but the location was too remote so next time, if I visit a conference in Madrid, I will chose a hotel in the city and use the metro to commute. Lesson learned. On the other hand, if I needed a connection to the airport, this hotel is ideal.
