Description: Enjoy different Mediterranean dishes with innovative touches and the highest quality raw produce. The culinary philosophy of La Capilla de La Bolsa is to process food as little as possible to ensure that it does not lose any of its flavour. Seasonal vegetables and seafood include gratinée sea urchins with a touch of cava wine, or our marinated red partridge salad served on a bed of lettuce leaves. The main dishes are also exquisitely prepared. Choose from sword fish and avocado carpaccio served with prawn vinaigrette, traditional farmyard chicken in an apple, pepper and nut sauce, or grilled fillet of sirloin steak and grilled fillet mignon with pepper sauce. The menu is completed by a selection of hand-crafted desserts, where you will find highly original dishes such as large Szechuan-peppered strawberries with bourbon vanilla ice cream. Also available is a wide selection of both national and international wines and cigars.

“Truely terrible”

Where to start?

We chose the place due to the online menu having veggie options, he actual menu was different and veggie options were limited.

The male waiter was ignorant and didn't know how to wait tables; reaching past my face right to left to pour water, instead of stepping to my left side. In general his attitude was not nice. The female waiter was however good.

Had scallops to start, they were OK, although might have caused the subsequent food poisening.

The first bite of my fish main contained about 10 bones, I gave it back and had the pork, the unknown side dish looked as though it had sat under a grill keeping warm for to long; dry and slightly toasted.

My veggie friend thought her veggie meal tasted strange, others observed "I find it hard to believe that taste comes from vegetables only".

I came over all hot faced about 1.5 hours after the scallops and had to leave the place immediately for fresh air. I went home. The next morning at 4am I woke with an incredibly bloated stomach and agonising pains about my torso, front and back. This continued all morning and returned later that night after I'd eaten something. My friend at the table had the same symptoms, although he did not vomit in the airport before his flight as I did.

The bill came to 70 euro per head and they tried to charge us for a bottle of water that we did not consume.

It' fair to assume we won't go back.

“Great food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2013

We enjoyed a fabulous dinner here. Amazing squid stuffed with black pudding and ostrich burgers. The restaurant is quite ornate with odd splashes of stainless steel - not sure if it works. The ceiling is really incredible. Service was unremarkable.

“Beautiful ambience, average food, poor service!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2013

Ambience
The ambience of the restaurant is just astonishing! Very nicely decorated with live music. At the basement a piano player in the upper floor a violin player

Food
Food was average, rather simple Spanish food

Menu
Simple and good organised

Staff/Service
Overall friendly, however they where not very qualified. For such a restaurant I was expecting more. A little bit disappointing

To keep in mind!
Reserve a table at the lower level, as the whole ambience is only there. The upper floor is nice, but not as beautiful as the lower level

“Amazing!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2013

The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. I had emailed asking for a table in the main room as it was a special birthday dinner. They called me to inform me that the main room was fully booked but could fit us into another room. When we arrived they surprised us by fitting us into the fabulous main room. The starter of millefeille was delicious and the suckling pig and 2 Choc desserts were soooo tasty! They also surprised the birthday boy with a surprise rendition of happy birthday from the pianist, and a birthday dessert, complete with candle. All together a fabulous dinner in an amazing setting. Fully recommended for a special occasion!

“beautiful environment”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2013

Located in an old chapel, the place is terrific. Nice furniture, tall ceilings, different dinings rooms. Staff is serviceable and friendly. Piano pieces were played during the dinner. Food is on fashion, with different tastes in same dish and full of colour and nice introduction. I think is a bit expensive, (be careful with wine which can rise your bill) but the place really worth it.

One advice, if you can, go on thursdays, there is opera during dinner depicted by sopranos and other class of singers (sorry I am not specialist in music). Fridays, piano man will be playing some pieces. Other days, not sure.
