I stayed for one night at the Eurostars Madrid Tower on a recent business trip. The selling point of the hotel has to be for the price of the rooms. I spent close to 100 euros for a modern stylish hotel room. Breakfast however was not included in the price. I did take breakfast at the hotel which was mediocre at best. The views however were amazing.
The day that I checked in to the hotel was apparently the same day that Manchester United football team was checking out so there was a lot of chaos in the lobby and the staff were stressed out due to the media that surrounded the hotel.
I didn't fault the hotel for that but the checkin was completely rushed and impersonal.
The two major disadvantages to the hotel are:
1.) the location- although well connected by the efficient Madrid metro system it's impossible to get anywhere on foot. It seems like the hotel caters more to the customers in the financial district in which the hotel is situated.
2.) after a long day at work, I wanted to use their jacuzzi/hot tub however when I reached the spa, I was told I would be charged an additional 20 euros to use the jacuzzi. In most of my travels from so so accommodations to top tiered hotels, I have never been asked to pay a supplement to use a jacuzzi for a measly 10 minutes.
Would I stay at the hotel again? Probably not. I'd rather be nearer to the town center where most of the action is.
