Just returned from Gibraltar and had been recommended this hotel for its location which indeed cannot be bettered. I agree with all the comments made previously. The hotel is a very old building which has been converted in a haphazard manner by erecting lots of partitioning. It is dark, not helped by the carpets, but overall quite clean. The staff are indeed very friendly and one Lady even gave up her car park space for us on our arrival. The hotel has six spaces outside the building reserved for its guest, but after they are full its a nightmare to find anywhere. The bathrooms are pokey, a bit scruffy but work okay. The breakfast is adequate if limited and uninspiring, but hey at that price what can you expect. There are lots of restaurants close by which do a 'full English' if that is your wish. Close to the hotel there is a square where mini bus drivers tout for passengers for Rock Tours. We took one of these at £16 each and it was a great two hour trip with a very knowledgeable driver. We saw it all and then shopped. Two nights is definately enough time to do Gibraltar and have a very enjoyable time, but only if you go with an open mind.
