My husband and I have visited Gibraltar before and decided this time to stay at The Rock Hotel. The recent reviews were very mixed but we decided to go ahead with our original booking. Although the hotel needs a refurbishment I cannot fault the staff in any way. We had a couple of problems on our arrival but they were sorted out immediately to our satisfaction. Everywhere was spotless and our room was cleaned everyday.
The reception staff, housekeeping and especially the staff in the Barbary bar/Wisteria were excellent and ALWAYS found time to make our stay a little special. The apes, in our opinion, were great and although I realise that they can be a nuisance, they were very entertaining.
My own personal opinion is that the staff play a very important part at a hotel and I was not dissapointed at The Rock. Hope it gets a refurbishment in the near future and all, I am sure, will be well.
