“We had our daughters wedding at the Caleta and what a special event it was.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2011

Food was exquisite. Lobster ravioli and fillet steak. The ceremony was around the swimming pool with a band and red carpet, and the wedding breakfast on the outside terrace. Spectacular views over the med and all in all a fantastic day. Juan and Wally the restaurant manager controlled the whole event and what a great job they did.

Rooms were all sea view and were extremely comfortable and all in all a very enjoyable stay. Would definately stay there again.

Love the hotel and it's position.
Interior beautiful. Staff excellent, very friendly and professional.
Our room was fine. A couple of things were not right when we got there eg only two beds instead of three, but very quickly rectified. One electric socket was not working and our tea/coffee hadn't been topped up but again they sorted it out.
The pool area is fine and never a problem to get a sunbed at any time of the day.
Breakfast was great. Lots of choice and all fresh and tasty.
A great bonus is that all buses are free (apart from the one to the border) so saves a lot of would be taxi fares. Bus stop right outside hotel.
Can't wait to come back.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms will be the best.

This hotel had a refurb a while ago and its much improved from the old days.
The location has an uninterrupted sea view, but bus or taxi transport is required for the less able bodied with the walk into town taking around 45 minutes.
Sea view rooms are spectacular, but not that big and in winter there may feel a little damp because of the close proximity to the water.
Always choose sea facing rooms though as rock views can be dark with small windows.
The lounge and the terrace are great for a light meal and a drink and sometimes dolphins may be seen.
Breakfast is good, but the restaurant is expensive for small portions. Quality is good though.
Just beware of leaving windows open on low floor rooms as hungry monkeys have been known to gain entry and they bite!

I stayed there for 2 days in the month of July 2011. Nicely located near the ocean, I took a sea viewing room. I was really amazed about the location of hotel. The cleanliness and amenities could not be matched. Staffs were also so friendly and polite in answering my queries. Breakfast was wide spread with variety.
Swimming pool was awesome where I ordered some delicious food and spent my pleasant afternoon.
Dinner was also excellent. I could never forget the delicious duck roast.
Night life in Gibraltor was excellent. I could never forget my stay in Caleta. I wish to come back to Caleta soon.

We stayed here the night before and of our wedding. Although the wedding was not at the hotel the staff did all they could to help us and it was nice that they took an interest as it was just the 2 of us. The night before we had a brilliant meal at nuno, sat on the terrace looking out to see- it was the best restaurant experience we had ever had and wish that we had eaten there on our wedding night. The lady who did my hair and make up was wonderful and made me look really beautiful. The room was spacious and clean with a fantastic sea view. We loved hearing the waves crash on the rocks. It was a little pricey but we were not scrimping on anything and all hotels in Gib cost a lot. I was put off having read negative reviews but I wish I hadnt read them as it was fab and I would recommend it to anyone.

stayed at the caleta hotel over june time service was fantastic the restaurant superb, beautiful location our room was on the ocean side rather than the rock side and was beautiful ... the sunrises are to die for and standing on the balcony all you can see is the Med :D if you are lucky you might see some baby barbary apes playing in the trees in the morning outside the hotel... all in all had a lovely time and the hotel manager Juan was extrememly helpful.. the rooms and hotel in general is spotless and the bar with its open air balcony over the med is an ideal way to wind down in the evenings all in all was a great stay and we will definitely say again recommend getting a massage and if you stay for over a week you get a free 20 mins .... mmmmm was lovely !pool is a little small but enough to do the job !

This was our third visit for a summer break. As we expected rooms were clean and well serviced and since last year the breakfast has improved with a much better offer. Staff were very friendly especially the two Daniels. The hotel was clean and well presented. It's ideal for Gib with a regular free bus service and with breath taking views of the med. We aquired bar meals on two evenings which were good value and standard. Haven't eaten at Nunos so can't comment. If your eating out we would thouroughly recommend The Tunnel at the square very good value for money. Gib is increasingly becoming a popular destination. When you visit you can understand why. We will return again to Gib and to the Caleta. Avoid the blands trip to cadiz as its not value for money at £65 each.
