“Excellent. But shame about the wifi.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2013 via mobile

The hotel ( with wifi exception) was excellent in every aspect. Clean , quiet , friendly etc and on a great location. BUT for a modern hotel not to have free wifi in even the lobby or bar area is now well behind the times. And inconvenient. Shame really as we ate and drank in other bars instead in the evening. That aside..highly recommended.

This is the second time I have stayed at The Elliott, both occasions being for business and I would say this hotel is definitely not geared for businessmen. I've just read some of the other reviews and would whole heartedly endorse the complaints about the cost of enet access. Right now it costs GBP2.80 per hour and then GBP5.00 for two hours when we all know it should be totally free in this day and age. So it's high time the management did something to improve the values this hotel offers.
In summary this place is crying out for investment. It looks tired and frayed round the edges. The lifts are slow. The restaurant furniture worn out. The food offer is very average and I cant agree with anyone who writes that breakfast is in any way of a high standard. It's a classically mediocre hotel offer with very average quality ingredients and precooked food kept warm in food warmers.
I tried it on my first morning and will now go outside for a better value offer among the myriad of cafes in Gibraltar town.
I live and work in Asia so I know what a 4 star hotel can really be like and frankly so should the O'Callaghan Group who own this place.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the square offer a decent view and are not noisy.

Stayed on business, rooms good size, air con poor very noisy. Well placed hotel with reasonable amenities. Staff helpful and friendly. Would be improved by provision of free wifi.
Bar area ok with sport on TV. Waited long time to get taxi when returning to airport. Food nearby was not very good endless low quality pub grub with chips.

Room Tip: Upper floor away from the lifts

Just returned from a 4day stay here which we both enjoyed tremendously. Lovely room, REALLY comfy bed and spacious wardrobes plus all amenities in the room that you would expect from an hotel of this standard. We loved Gib., and loved the friendly helpful people. The only niggle we have, and it is only one niggle is the price of wifi in this hotel. I would have thought that again, in an hotel of this standard, we should have had free wifi. It seemed to us it was just a way of making more money. What a shame as this really is a lovely place to stay and the staff are tremendous. Please Mr Eliott, consider removing those extortionate prices for the use of wifi, you know it makes sense!

Just had a 10 day break with my partner at this hotel, came back on 23/9/13 , will start at the check in, this was quick friendly and efficient even with asking for an extra card for the room it took less than 5 minutes, and all done with a smile.
So to the room which was very clean throughout, it was large with a double bed ( might have been queen size ) plenty of clothes room a large round table and chairs and a good size telly with plenty of choices including sky sports channels , a safe in the wardrobe area and once again plenty of hangers, onto the bathroom and again a good size but the beauty of this was the shower it was very very refreshing and powerful and a double size with sliding doors.
Also my partner assures me it was 1 of the most comfortable beds she has slept in and she travels abroad a lot through work.
So nothing to complain about in any area of the room, and it was cleaned every day and fresh towels placed in the bathroom every day, and the enjoyment just went on and on,the breakfast was well cooked and plenty of choice, sometimes you might have to wait until a table was free but that is because gibraltar is not the biggest place on earth and space is at a premium but the breakfast is worth the wait and all served with a smile .After walking round the gib all day we would come back and have a drink on an evening at the verandah bar so a thank you to nina and anna for serving us with a smile and making our stay as nice as possible, and that`s what i have taken away from this trip, that all the staff just want you to have as nice a time as possible and nothing is too much trouble for them and all done with a please and a thank you.
A special thank you to the receptionist who was on and got my swimming trunks back after they had blown off my balcony from room 704, i did not get your name but you went out of your way even though you were very busy that morning and even after i had given you the wrong room they had blown to, if the manager is reading this find out who was on reception the morning of 23 sept and give her a pat on the back because i will be coming back to gibraltar, it is a little gem and i will be staying at the eliott again because of your wonderful staff and lovely hotel, you just do things right.

Room Tip: stayed in room 704 and the sleep i had was the best for years, also the views of the rock are brilli...

Really nice, friendly hotel. The staff is very accommodating and helpful. I use the place to hold my regular Speed Funding Events, part of Angels Den business funding endeavors. Laura the manageress of the hotel is a lovely person and her reception staff great.

I love Gibraltar and after 12 years wanted to visit again.
My Sister and I stayed at this hotel.
It was lovely even if at times a bit chaotic, especially on National Day!
The staff were great and very friendly.
We had some wonderful food as well.
Going to book again for next year!
