“Nice hotel in convenient location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2012

Hotel is within walking distance of shopping and plenty of places to eat. Breakfast was good and the view from the top floor location is very nice when relaxing in the morning. Rooms are clean and comfortable. View from room was a partial water view. Lobby and common areas are clean and are not old or run down. Overall a nice hotel. Hotel staff were pleasant.

Nice hotel, central, quiet, etc. A bit over-priced. But what really got me was the fact that I was expected to pay £5 for two hours of wireless internet! Does the management not realise that nowadays free internet access is expected just about everywhere? The result was that I was hacked off by the hotel policy. Instead of sitting in the hotel bar with my ipad I simply walked a couple of minutes into town, sat at a nice bar in the main street, had a beer and snacks and checked messages - the last free of course!

I always stay at this lovely hotel, in the past have been disappointed at quality of breakfast, but on this occasion the breakfast was piping hot and a vast array to choose from, my only disappointment was that they only have UFT milk, which apparently is applicable to the whole of Gibraltar. The staff are helpful and kind, A special thank you to the Receptionist (I think her name is Karen) who went far above what she needed to do to ensure that we got to the airport. (when we stayed there was a bomb alert at the airport, resulting in no taxis being able to collect us and with so many bags of luggage we were stranded) and also Abdullah in the restaurant who ensured that we had a lovely mean in the rooftop restaurant. My final wish for this hotel is that you entice Frederick back, I do so miss his fantastic creative cooking.

About a 20 minute walk with 1 roller case from GIB Airport. Its just head into town and past gibraltar arms on right and then turn left after marks n spencers. Up the hill. (£5.50 a taxi back to airport) Ideal central location. Clean hotel and friendly staff. Bar nice and welcoming. In november when we stayed the resteraunt on the top floor wa empty, we walked in sat down and looked at the menu and went down to the bar to eat.
Request for a sea view wee not followed through from booking, but the room we had 400 was on the end and rock view. The rooms on the corners of the hotel are square rather than rectangle, making them feel bigger and are very quiet, away from the lift pinging. Plus you only have one neighbour. Non-Smoking hotel but all the rooms now have balconeys, amazing how many fire flies (the amber kind) were on the balconeys in the evenings.
The room was excellently fitted out, very clean and had all the usual facilties, tea/coffee - Iron Ironing Board - toliteries (ideal if you on a carry on flight - no need to bring any).
Really centrally located, 3 mins down the hill and you at M&S and by the GIB Arms. 10 min walk pask GIB Arms to the Harbour area. Great for the main street and shops.

All in all cant fault the stay for the price paid, The food in the bar was excellent and reasonbily priced, the drinks were good also, apart from the expensive litre bottle of water.

I will stay again, mainly for the location and the spacious/clean room.

2 negative points:
Shower tray cold not cope with shower on full and started to fill up a little.
Fire Alarm went of at 5:30 AM by mistake the first morning. (Maybe a one off??)

Room Tip: Corner Room - 400,500 etc on a high floor. They are square and well laid out, middle rooms are rect...

After a while we managed to narrow streets of Gibraltar to find the hotel. Very handby centrally located you choose this hotel if you have meetings in town and want to avoid parking problems, or even taking a taxi. Everything is within 5 min walk. The hotel is an old lady that have had its runs, and without any recent facelifts... Room was clean and nice, and bed a lot harder than my own, but comfortable enought. Breakfast - full English - was served with a nice view overlooking Gibraltar (if it wasn't for the moggy windows). All in all, expensive for what you get in quality.

Stayed in this hotel for 4 days 3 nights in early November .
Hotel clean and tidy and staff excellent . well mannered and very helpful .
Although this hotel is marked as a 4* it falls short of our own 4*.
The room although clean and very well maintained by the cleaning staff there were quite a few things wrong with it .
Electric plug socket broken and haging off the wall, shower cubicle mould all around edge of bath and shower, electric socket in bathroom for shaver broken and gap around edge , chairs in room broken arm rest with sharp edges, paint peeling around doors and skirting board falling off wall under table .
Food wasnt much better on first morning breakfast although got better during the stay . First morning breakfast was cold and even new sausages delivered were cold .
Hotel needs a good overall as lots of damage to doors walls and lift control panels falling off .

Room Tip: rooms are comfortable but dont have room 305 which is next to the lift and reduces room size by a qu...
