“spine tingling from beginning to end”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2013

wow - what an utterly amazing 6 hours! A birthday treat whilst in Gibraltar for our family of six, (two adults and 4 children aged between 8-13)..from the second we boarded we were treated to a tailor made trip based on a 5 minute conversation made during booking to include donuts and drinks for the children, fishing rods and rope swings to jump overboard from, appropriately sized lifejackets, snorkels and goggles, tonnes of knowledge and interest and enthusiasm oozing from every bit of Harley our able and smashing skipper for the day...His first question was "right , what do you guys want to get out of this trip" and after listening to us all he went a million miles out of his way to make sure all the boxes were ticked (including making a birthday cake from scratch with our 3 youngest below deck while bobbing along in calm waters...wow). It was all very hands on - his clear love for what he does along with his total serenity and confidence infected us all - even during the hairaising thrill of being flung from side to side during a rough bit....we all learnt so much, but above all relaxed like we have never relaxed before..a beautiful memory and a must all round x

“Spur of the moment trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2013

Whilst spending a week in Gibraltar a walk past the yachts in the marina got us thinking about sailing and prehaps giving it a go one day.
Out of the cabin onTom Boy pops Harley, what a pleasant chap. We were soon on the phone to Lucy and booking a trip out for a day.
Although the weather that day was calm and not much wind Harley made the most of getting us involved in the sailing experience.
The wind magically increased after a lovelly lunch and a spot of fishing anchored in a bay off the spanish coast. So the anchor was lifted and the wind took us down the coast. It was great to be left incharge of the wheel whilst Harley got to it baking bread. Not something I would have thought of whilst sailing. But wow it was really good. Warm bread and butter on a day out at sea!
Although seeing a dolphin was on the wish list they managed to avoid us all day. We did however spot a rather large Turtle which Harley became quite excited about and turned the yacht around to get a better look. Apparently not a common site to see there! Fantastic.
Also a Sunfish was added to the list of spots that day. A very strange large fish with big pink lips and large eyes basking in the sun. Another diversion to get a better look.
A great day out and a really good introduction to sailing. I would definately recommend it to anyone, experienced on a yacht or not I'm sure that Tomboy would meet your needs in every way.

“Simply amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2013

My self and a group of seven went to Gibraltar on the Friday. We had a heavy night out and were planning to be at the boat to meet Harley, our skipper, at 9.30/10 am to set sail to Ceuta (Morroco)
By the time we carried our hung over heads down to the harbor we were late and arrived at 11 am. Harley wasn't fazed at all with us being late but he might of been slightly concerned on how we looked (green). As we boarded we were given the option of sickness tablets which we all took.
After a full saftey briefing we set sail to a bay about an hour away, This was where we were going to swim and have the option of lunch. We were all given the option of sailing the boat which was brilliant. There was music, nibbles, and plenty of "liquid" along the way.
Once we anchored in the bay I quickly stripped to swim wear and jumped in, bare in mind this was the back end of March and the waters were luke warm shall we say, it was very refreshing and most of us had a quick dip.
We decided we would skip lunch and have the roast chicken with all the trimmings for tea instead.

Now for the crossing, Harley had advised us it was going to be quite a rough crossing and it was........FANTASTIC! Again we all had a go at steering and tacking with music playing it was a great party atmosphere. We saw two different types of dolphins and Harley diverted so we could all get better veiws.
After about four hours we reached Ceuta, anchored and Harley prepared the table and fed us an amazing roast chicken.
We then talked Harley into comming out with us for a night of fun, he was brilliant and took us to a few places he knew sadly I cant quite remember them.
Although me and friend got happily lost for three hours we eventually found the boat and fell asleep.

The next morning was Easter Sunday and we awoke to the sounds of a big parade and the smells of a big fry up, amazing poached eggs. We then took a walk into Ceuta to see the parade.
There were hundreds of people lining the streets as a huge parade went by, this parade should not be missed its a wonderfull experience and I hope to see it again.

So back to the boat where Harley had cooked a lasagne which was delicious and then we set sail back to Gib. The crossing was a little bit rougher but very exhilarating.
We got back to Gib aprox four hours later and again talked Harley into coming out for a meal with us, our treat to say thank you for being a brilliant host.

All in all we all had an amazing time on a beautiful sailing boat with Harley the skipper or should I say new true friend.
I would recomend this holiday to every one it can be relaxing, exilarating or a flipping good party.

Spending my stag do sailing on Tomboy was certainly a stag do with a difference but it was a fantastic trip! We were all catered for fantastically and all were able to experience of sailing a yacht with a very experienced captain. The trip was extremely enjoyable and I'd highly reccommend.

“Sunset sail”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2012

On our penultiamte evening on Gibralter we found the brouchure for Tomboy sailing, we called the next morning to ask if thre was any chance of a trip out that day. Lucy was extremely helpful and arranged a 2 hour sail that evening for the two of us.

Dave, our captain, was so friendly and put us (both rather land lubber types, although enthusiatic passengers) at ease, making the experience very easy going while making us feel useful. The trip was fantastic and he judged our wants expertly, with enough exhileration for me, whilst not scaring my mother too much.

If we are ever in the area again this is definately an experience we will repeat and would recommend to everyone!
