“Three nights aboard Con Dios.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2012

What a wonderfull experience .Living on a boat in Gib.great veiws cosey cabin.Clean.our hosts John and Jill are a nice freindly couple, always with good local knowledge.Close to a few good cheap places to eat.Cheap but far from tacky. For the price one gets good value. It was a adventure i would wish to repeat one day.The Rock and area plus things to do are amazing. If you want to see dolphins in pods or some times orca, you can step aboard a boat close by .It will take you toward the coast of Africa only fouteen miles away.the veiw of the huge rock from out at sea is some thing i shall remember always. Thanks Skipper and Jill.

Room Tip: try and book the state room.to me i would have slept on deck just to be there.

The boat is well located in the lively atmospheric marina. First impressions matter. We had a few friendly email exchanges before we arrived which was nice. When we boarded our first impressions were concerning. The owners living quarters where visible and rather messy, it smelt of smoke. The deck photo which show the table and chairs was not there and so no opportunity to have a glass of wine watching the world go by from on deck watching the sun go down. It was Halloween and the marina had a good lively atmosphere to it. We had the state room thank god although rather grandly named for what it is, it didn't smell of smoke. It was generally clean, the port holes could do with a wipe down to remove the soot. The ensuite is in fact just a loo with a pump and a basin with cold running water only. The shower blocks were about 4 mins away - we boiled a kettle and washed in the cabin the next morning as it was then raining.
Breakfast isn't included so it isn't a B&B, just a B!
Breakfast at Bianca's bar opposite the boat was huge and the same cost as on the boat.
It was a bed for the night.

Room Tip: The state room.

Hosts very helpful - breakfast was great. Only disappointing part was the size of our cabin. It was tiny especially for 2. Relieved in the end that we were only staying for 1 night. That said we did see the two other cabins which unfortunately were booked - these we're at least four times the size of the starboard 'cupboard'. Would try again but only if we could secure one of the other cabins.

It is not often you get to spend a few nights in the harbor of Gibraltar on a yacht. After reading all the positive reviews we booked Con Dios, and were thrilled with the results. The yacht itself is CLEAN and well appointed. We had the front cabin with two twin beds. Yes, we shared the bath with fellow travelers, but that is no problem. The showers are close by in the marina and again, easy and clean. What makes this place special is the attentiveness of John and Jill, without being intrusive. The upper deck is a spectacular view of the area and perfect for an evening cocktail hour. Tips: park in Spain right at the end of the block leading to the border, pack light and walk to the harbor....no lines, cheap and easy. Take the gondola to the top of the rock and spend an afternoon walking down....we walked for 51/2 hours and loved it. Take a few granola bars and water. We especially liked the Cuban restaurant a bit down the boardwalk.

Room Tip: Try to get the main cabin, but don't hesitate to take the front cabin. This place is so unique.

We booked Con Dios after finding them through Trip Advisor, all the reviews were spot on, John and Jill could not be more friendly or helpful. Lazing in the evenings on the deck with a glass of wine was so peaceful and highly recommended. The location is great with lots of good restaurants close by.

We had the starboard and port cabins, and there were - cosy - but apart from sleeping we didn't really spend time in them. Although the marina is lively at night noise was not a problem. The port room was a little stuffy, but Jill supplied a fan, which made all the difference. I would say that the port room would be rather cramped with two adults.

We loved our stay on board and far perfered it to the hotel, which we stayed in following our nights on Con Dios.

Thank you Jill and John!

Room Tip: The twin and stateroom are airier with a bit more room

After a most enjoyable week on board Con Dios,we totally endorse all the previous lovely and helpful comments. Furthermore, we had the advantage of occupying the stateroom en-suite cabin. The weather was exceptionally good so that we were able to enjoy breakfast on the forward deck and 'sundowners' on the top deck! John and Jill were most helpful and friendly throughout our stay so we look forward to another visit fairly soon.

Room Tip: En-suite stateroom!

I stayed on the Con Dios for five nights at the beginning of October. John and Jill were very friendly and always helpful. The boat and Marina were a great choice and the value for money excellent. There are clean showers 200 metres away and the whole experience was one I would highly recommend, particularly out of peak season when the weather would probably make the lack of a/c a little challenging. Overall, great hosts, great location, great experience.
