“A classy, old-style hotel with maginificent views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2012

If you are into classy, old-style hotels situated in the fashionable part of town with relaxing views to the harbour and surrounding seaside, then the 'Bahia de Vigo' will not disappoint you.

I stayed in one of the spacious suites on the top floor where I enjoyed peace and calm and gorgeous views to the estuary and the nearby port of Vigo. There is a shopping centre just across the road with several fast food outlets and many bars and restaurants within easy reach.

Yes it is old-fashioned, but in a charming way that makes you feel part of an Agatha Christie story. Thumbs up.

Room Tip: The suites are huge and worth the extra cost if you are not into claustrophobic hotel experiences.

Spent 4 nights because of a conference but sadly, Bahia Hotel needs a facelift. Rooms dated and poorly equipped. Staff overworked but at least try as best as they can under the circumstances. Watch out because they charge 1euro for the bread even if you don't ask for it! The conference had its main dinner at the hotel and the service was so slow that those who didn't want the fish course had to wait until at least midnight before they were served! Many left before the dessert came out because they had to get up for the last day of the conference. Watch out because the pork tenderloin isn't cooked well (yuk!) and despite sending it back, still came back pink inside so couldn't eat it at all. Even the seafood was surprisingly smelly. Shame. I agree with A-Ego and J.B. Travellers may wish to try another city (e.g. Viviero) for better value for money.

Room Tip: try to get a room that doesn't face the front of the hotel - evening revellers will keep you awa...

The Furnitures are quite old, they need to reniew inside, old environment, the hotel has characteristics of a 90' age. Breakfast is ok, quality ratio also but I expected something more. It is actually below the standard of the common four stars hotels. I would not recommend. I usu.ally recommend if the hotel surprised me in something special. This is not the case, I might define it as a three stars superior. Nothing more.

This hotel is in a very good location for seeing the sites of Vigo. It is situated right on the waterfront and if you're on one of the upper levels, as I was, the view of the bay at sunset is stunning. The decor is outdated and drab. The hotel is dark and frumpy. The service is virtually non-existent and otherwise, neither helpful nor pleasant. The beds were average, the bathrooms motel-like. It is reasonably priced however and within walking distance (less than 10 minutes) from the train.

Vigo is a great place when you look for the best climat and food or want to escape to the near islands. The hotel´s location is priviliged, 9th floor has great views over the bay! Some rooms still need to be modernized.

Not the most attractive hotel on the outside but definitely in the best location. We paid a little more for a sea view superior and it was worth it. Some mornings we lay in bed and watched the cruise ships sail in. Everything is close to the hotel - boat trips, the old town, shops, restaurants.
We didn't have breakfast in the hotel as we had been advised by our daughter (who lives in Vigo) that we could get breakfast for a few euros in cafes near by which is what we did.

The hotel is in need of updating but the staff are excellent and our room was comfortable, large and very clean. We can't wait to return.

Room Tip: Sea view superior, worth paying a little more for
