“Comfortable.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2011

I really liket Los Abetos. The surroundings of the hotel are really relaxing and beautiful. The views are really nice too. The lobby is big, with lots of seating areas all over the hotel, great to hang out with friends. Breakfast is really good. The quality of the cooking there is not so great. I mean, the food is well made, the meat is tender, but the seasoning wasn't my taste at all.
The rooms are big and clean, really sunny. The beds are comfortable, the bathroom is good. Our tub was kind of clogged and the problem couldn't be solved while we were there, so the cleaning lady came and tried to unclog it... no succes.
The hotel location could be good or bad, depending on what you want. It is really far from downtown, but the hotel offers a shuttle service. You have to call the driver when you want him to take you back, so, you need to have a cell phone with you.
The swimmingpool is outside, good only for summer days.
I would stay there again, but I wouldn't have dinner or lunch there.
Staff is helpful, spanish stile. They tend to be kind of dry and short. The waiter asked if we wanted coffee, my friend said later. Waiter laughed nervously and said: "No, coffe now, not later! No coffe later." That was hilarious! Weird, but funny!

Room Tip: You can ask for a room with a view. The rooms with two floors are outside of the main building and a...

We finally reached Santiago de Compostela in 2010, after trying to get there in 1976, and we were not disappointed that we made the effort to get there.

The hotel we selected was a very nice place, just outside the old city, and was clean and modern. There was a free shuttle bus into the old city which was a great service, given that the parking options were very limited.

Our room was spacious, with 2 levels, and was very clean, quiet and comfortable.

The history of this old city, being the end point of the fabled pilgrimage to the supposed burial place of St James is rich and varied.

This is one of the must see places in all of Spain.

Excellent recommendation through Trip Advisor. Conveniently situated. Arrived on 16th July stayed 2 nights. On arrival we were upgraded to a junior suite. Excellent room. Grounds are relaxing nice pool after visiting Santiago, however pool small and not enough loungers when the hotel is busy.
Shuttle bus into Santiago old town is convenient and reliable.Ideal for a touring holiday.

The Sercotel Los Abetos was a delightful surprise. In the three weeks we spent traveling across Spain, this hotel was one of our favorites. Among the amenities of our large, spotless, two-story suite were fridge, free Wi-fi, two wide, flat-screen TVs (if that matters), plus a private garage. The bed, with plush mattress, plump duvet and soft sheets, offered respite from travel fatigue and Santiago's autumn drizzle. Los Abetos has a picturesque chapel on the grounds and obviously serves as a wedding destination; in fact, a reception was in progress as we checked in. Our only problem with the hotel lay in its distance from the Old Town, and though they provide a free, on-demand shuttle, it unfortunately doesn't operate on Sundays - necessitating a taxi ride. We would nevertheless be happy to stay there again.

Room Tip: We stayed in the block of rooms behind the main building and were very pleased.

I have to agree with all the nice reviews of this hotel. Probably the only disappointment for us was the cont'l breakfast. No option for a yogurt or a good piece of bread or really good croissant.
The hotel has good van service in to town & it is really refreshing being slightly away from everything.
The owners take great pride in maintaining a nice hotel.

We stayed here for two nights and thorougly enjoyed our stay. It is situated some way out of Santiago de Compostela, but the courtesy bus service worked very well, the journey taking approximately ten minutes each way. The room was very comfortable, with a nice view, and with free wifi. Breakfast is excellent, with lots of cooked and fresh food. It is set in nice grounds, with plenty of parking space in the hotel grounds.
As mentioned by a previous reviewer, it is a little difficult to find, but once there I would highly recommend it.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the front of the hotel. This gives you the best views.

The hotel es very confortable and pretty. The staff is nice and very kind. Althought it isn´t centrical, it isn´t a problem because there are free minibus for going to the city, if you prefer walking it´s a very nice walk. The hotel is silent, the breakfast is complete, the rooms are very big but charning
