“A pleasant surprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2013

I'll echo the positive reviews below. Clean, well run, great location and cheap. I can't fault it. We had a quiet room facing the back, which had the unexpected pleasantness of music wafting in from the nearby academy nearby (during school hours). Steps to the central sights. We walked to and from the train and bus stations. We had a nice breakfast downstairs on several mornings, and the terrace out front was ideal for a pre-dinner glass of wine. If there's a better hotel in Tarragona, I doubt it's in the city centre.

Room Tip: Back facing room was quiet. Top floor meant we were able to see over the other rooftops.

This hotel is ideally located in the heart of the old City and on the buzzing Placa de la Font. Rooms are spotlessly clean and well equipped and well worth the reasonable price. Breakfast is available in the bar/restaurant on the ground floor with tables outside on the Square. The staff were helpful and friendly but didn't speak much English. We left our car in the car park under the hotel (50% discount for hotel guests) and took the train to Sitges. We also flew to Reus airport which is small and convenient for Tarragona. We ate in fantastic restaurants around I would certainly return both to the hotel and Tarragona.

Room Tip: We had room 503 on the top floor overlooking the square. Good double glazing meant that, if you kep...

Many, many factors made this hotel a great choice. Location couldn't be any more central; close to most everything and near several very good restaurants and bars. Best meal here was at Forum, which is right across the square. Confusing, since it isn't anywhere near the forum area. I didn't eat meals here other than bkft (which was adequate), but from my room overlooking the square, diners looked happy. Place seems to be run mostly by young waiters who were all very friendly and accommodating. The rooms and common areas nicely decorated and very clean. My room was spacious and well equipped. Not cheap, but excellent value for the money.

Room Tip: Get room overlooking square. Lots of good action below.

Great hotel, fantastic location. tip search for street name found on maps, as Sat Nav doesn't like Placa de la Font. Underground parking right outside and 50% discount if you are a hotel resident. Rooms are a good size, well equipped and would recommend a room with a view over the square. WiFi only in lobby. Great location,,easy walking distance to main sights. Plenty of bars/ restaurants outside in square. Quattro at the top of the Place is really good. Good service, good prices and Tapas very good. Would definitely stop here again.

Room Tip: No swimming pool or fitness centre. Clicked the wrong buttons. If you are after a decent, clean hote...

Loved the fact we were "in the middle of all" easy to go anywhere from the location of the hotel. Had a back room which was very clean and quiet once everyone had gone to bed. Nice and warm, extra blankets no problem from staff. Hardish, small double bed and plastic under matress cover, but apart from that, was really good. Very helpful staff, I think it is a family run hotel. We will return.

My partner and I stayed here in march we were both really happy with the hotel and the location. This hotel is small but beautiful the rooms were very comfortable and the decor was modern and warm. The bathroom was very clean and nicely presented the water pressure for the shower was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful and always gave us a warm and friendly welcome. It's location is excellent, in the heart of the old town and sitting on the main square with the lovely local town hall lots of really great restaurant bars which are very very popular with the locals all of whom are very friendly most people have good English. The old town has lovely winding narrow streets filled with antique buildings religious buildings little courtyards and lots of opportunity for taking nice photographs.
We were so happy we booked in for a second night. From here we visited Sitges and Barcelona and at the end of our week we stayed at this hotel again for a further two nights. The buses are cheap and the train station is very convenient for Barcelona.
Tip. Avoid Salou we stayed here on the first night and thought it was a empty shell. Tarragona is a real working city it has a very nice beach and the roman ruins are beautiful. There is a very nice view from your balcony over the main square.

Tarragona is a fascinating Roman City and the hotel is ideally situated, overlooking lovely square with plenty of restaurants. You can walk to old quarter and visit all Roman sites. Hotel is comfortable. After dinner in old quarter we came back for a night cap and played cards in hotel bar. Very relaxing end to our holiday.
